i just notice this morning while going to work, the JDM 180sx type X wheels are the same ones used on the newer 2nd USDM Infiniti G20t. guess some of us here dont have to look into japan for JDM parts...and there is that one guy selling a set on ebay. since there is not a whole bunch of 2nd gen G20t around, you can say he is right that the wheels are somewhat "Rare"....

4 lug S14 alloys are also the same wheel, and they say nissan (as opposed to infiniti).

ARGH YOU IDIOTS AND YOUR TYPE X

many of the trims had the so-called 'type x' wheels
loko at the back of the HyperRev s13 or s14 one, it has a Type G w/ the 'assumed' type x wheels

TYPE X IS A TRIM!! ARGH

no its slightly different i heard (not positive on this-its been discussed on zilvia previously). the design. but to the untrained eye its the same

iirc, the base model s14 mesh (alloy) is the same as the 180sx alloys.

The P11 G20 wheels are NOT THE SAME. Same 16-spoke face design, but the P11 G20 lip is polished and the offset is higher.

But yes base kouki S14 wheels = kouki 180SX wheels.

I've never seen a kouki 180SX without those wheels (stock) so "Type X" is irrelevant. Type R, G, S, had them too, either standard or as an option.

I'd run a set of base zenki S14 wheels. They're kinda doofy looking, but I bet they're light, and noone wants them so they're cheap. Also the spoke design looks good for Z brakes.

cos i like how they look? cos my car only has 140 hp and doesn't need 20x10 tires? or maybe because i could probably find 'em cheap, and don't want to buy new tires considering i just bought new tires, but i really don't like how my rims look right now?

I agree, they're stock! but then again, some people like the clean stock/sleeper look. And i must add they do look nice.

ARGH YOU IDIOTS AND YOUR TYPE X

I think you guys are WAY too anal about the naming conventions of car parts. What would the proper name for this wheel be then? Nissan alloy wheel? No, that's too general. Kouki base model alloy? Nope. It's on other cars also. It doesn't matter if this wheel came off a base model kouki s14, IT'S THE SAME WHEEL THEY USED FOR THE KOUKI 180SX. SO WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT YOU CALL IT.

ITS STOCK!!! why would you want a stock rim?! high offset, skinny wheel!

FOR DAILY DRIVING!

But man... I can't believe some of you guys didn't notice these wheels existed domestically.

the annoyance stems from people calling anything involving the kouki 180sx as "type x"

it's the same as saying "type r" when referring to any 3rd gen integra.

douson, you should get a macro program so you can fire off the "type x is a trim" response at a single keystroke, seeing as the whole type x thing comes up so damn often. :D

that's what im trying to get across. people think "oh damn i want a type x 180sx"
well good news, USDM 240sx we get type X bumpers STOCK OH DAYUM WHO WUDDU THUNK!

the bandwagon, gran turismo and initial d has made people think type x body kit is da chit, in reality a sr20de low/near base model 180sx had the same damn kit (and wheels).

Anal about the name? YEAH, because you are WRONG!! And the more people you you spread misinformation to will think that you are right. And you aren't. So we correct you. But we also correct like 800 people a day. Thats what we should make some "Intro to Chassis codes" sticky thread. Sh_t, i will write one after I post this...

J-Nagra... if you jump one more bandwagon I think I will buy you some goofy clothes and send you to Amish country where they still ride around in those things.

As for the wheels, kouki S14 and kouki 180sx had them. How hard is that to unerstand? And we got the S14 version... therefore...

Are the ones and you can get them at www.aaarims.com, they are 200.00 per and they discount it 25.00/rim if you get all 4... For the dough, I would suggest the purchase of something different.

Only a sucker would pay $175 apiece for them.

They pop up on eBay all the time, and I've seen them on Zilvia and Freshalloy classifieds, selling for much much less! Like no more than $300 for the set of four.

Don't you dare speak badly of Gran Tursimo :D .

I still never got why they named it a 240sx in GT3 when its a 180sx:confused:

But another thing with the Type-X, nobody really knows about all the other models, Type-X is the best looking one therefore its the only one most people know about.

Look at Civics, they hav so many different types, but everyone remembers Type-Rs and SIs.

on the wheels, they look nice but id only get em if i saw em in a junkyard, and for cheap with tires. But I would take just about any half decent looking 4x114.3 rims from a junkyard for the right price

Ahhh but thats the thing... an EK9 CTR has a wing, rear, side, and front aero pieces that are found on NO OTHER civic. They are exclusive. The Wheels are also exclusive... different even than the ITRĀ“s. The SI has that front lip and wheels that are found on no other civic. The kouki (96-98)180sx Type-X has wheels, bumper, sideskirts, rear valence, wing, and taillights found on all kouki 180s (the sides, rear, and wing were an option on Type-S and Type-R, and stock on Type-G). Anyway, beyond being annoying, it is plain wrong to call something (at least on the exterior) Type-X exclusive.... Also, the chuki model 180sx had a Type-X. IT IS JUST A TRIM LEVEL. Guess what... the chuki Type-X looks just like any of our 91-93 240 fastbacks...

oh wth, i didnt even notice the dates.

To dorifto, I agree with you but I didnt even know half that stuff you sadi about the civics.

Most people seee kouki 180s with type-x wing, so type-x wing is really the problem, it is one of the few things that changes over the trims.

Either way I'll never own a genuine type-x maybe a wing if i decide to buy it, you guys will never be able to get the point accross because probably half of the new users that sign up would not know the differences b/w type-x type-s etc..

DoriftoSlut

The point is everywhere that tells people that wing is a "Type-X" is wrong. You are saying it now. So the more I educate people on the correct terms, the more people know and spread the knowledge... Did Newton figure it would be too hard to teach his theorums on Physics and keep them to himself?

the kouki Wing is just an option. It so happens it came on the Type-G and Type-X trim levels as part of the pacage. As did the full aerokit.
