Yeah I'm from the east coast of the US where our waves aren't that great, so Japan is fine for me. I learned to surf in Japan at　かたがいはま and おんじゅく. Hoping to get to Oki someday, we'll see.

thanks, Yoko, but i'm moving there for good. each term is four years, and we're planning on being there for at least 12 years, so i plan on getting to know people, taking my boys to some of the fine racing and drifting Japan has to offer, and of course hitting up the tokyo auto salon. my son is two and loves cars, but he's into the movie Cars, which of course we all know is NASCAR, so I've got a lot of work to do to get him out of that phase, and into real racing. I've only been to the annual tokyo motor show in Makuhari mese once, in '99 and it was pretty awesome. first time i ever got to sit in a R34 GT-R...and it wasn't even running :doh:

My company's workshop/parking yard is located in Noda City, just off the Joban highway. Though plans to relocate to Yokohama are in the near future.

From the Kashiwa exit, Tsukuba circuit is about 30 minutes away.

Where abouts in Chiba are you? My guess is within the Urayasu area where its more populated.

BTW, if your here by mid-November, you may want to head up to Fukushima-ken, Nihonmatsu area. Ebisu Circuit is having there fall festival. Mostly drift action, though they have some nice circuit tracks for gripping.

I'll be up there staying at Powervehicles HQ and running all weekend in the S14. Few friends are also coming up. Id offer you a ride, but only have room for one passenger, which is taken atm.

Not sure in terms of car stuff. I've only been here a little a month and only met a few people. Seems like a lot of people go to Mobara circuit for drifting, etc but I haven't been yet. Anyone on here that goes or knows more about it chime in. Are you coming over for the auto salon primarily?

I drifted Mobara a few months ago, pretty fun track, I really liked it, and the turnout was pretty good. I live in Kanagawa so I can't suggest much for that area. As for the TAS I prolly will not be going this year, not definite.. but likely no..i'll let you know otherwise though.

How did you line up the English teaching gig man? i heard lining up work was very difficult to come by, and from what I understand they won't let you live there unless you have secured work there. I was planning on doing something similar but haven't really seriously looked into going through the proper venues for doing so, if you don't mind me asking what was the approximate cost to move there for rent and such, you can PM me if you like. I am just sick of my job here and would like to try something different.
