Alright so I found this s13 coupe for $800 and im thinking about getting it to swap my parts from hatch to the coupe...

but this is deterring me away from it (and the aftermarket flip up sunroof). Just trying to get an general idea of what type of money I would have to spend to get it fixed. I'm fulling understanding this is no simple bondo/fiberglass job.

I'm kinda 50/50 set on buying car right now. Its getting hella hard to find s13's (let alone a coupe) in my area. my current hatch's front frame is no good so i want a clean s13 now.

If i do get it ill be swapping in:
- dash, carpet, door panels
- a fresh built motor and rebuilt tranny.

I've seen people cut that specific area out and weld in a new piece.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

only problem right now for me is that Im gonna be on a tight budget til the end of the year. Would it pose a problem if I just knock/cut it out to the good metal and throw some primer over it til spring to keep it from rusting. I will get a plate welded in later on during spring

That's only 10% of the rust! Wait untill you really start to rip it apart. Don't buy it unless you have the equipment to repair panels. Use a screw driver and stab around the shock towers, rockers, and floors.

well Im gonna find out tomorrow when I tear into it. if ive been butt-f*cked then itll just turn into some other type of project.

**for a car that has 225k miles, 185 compression on all 4 cyl. its not that bad...but that compression doesnt speak for everything else on the motor. itll be getting a fresh block in it
