Hey guys,

I just installed a 93 KA in my 96 body. Everything is plugged in and attached but i have one problem; it won't start. I think it may be the starter. When i turn the ignition, i hear a loud clicking sound like the starter is spinning but not engaging with the flywheel. Thus the engine isn't even cranking. I feel that i might have installed the started incorrectly.

Here's my question, is there only one way to install the starter? There are 3 holes on the starter, are the 2 holes the bottom of the starter or the top? Does it just slip in or do i actually have to line up the gears of the starter and the flywheel (cuz when i installed it is just slipped in and i couldn't figure out any other way to get it in)

Also, i manually cranked it a few times. When i crank it should i hear the starter move? Could it be that i'm low on battery?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, try replacing the battery and crank it then.

how many times should i crank it? And crank it with the battery connected?

I'm going with battery. Clicking means the starter is good and the battery doesn't work. If it were the starter it would turn over very slowly. I just replaced my starter and the way i knew it was the starter was by giving it the tap test. It goes like this, whenever the car didn't start I gave the starter a tap and voila it would start. Then i would keep turning it off and on until it wouldn't start again. At this point I would tap the starter again and the car would turn on again. Sorry if the starter testing was pointless, just some extra info if you wanted to know.
