Some of you that know me know my dad passed away last month of Lung Cancer. Well, I've been going through a lot of his pictures of his life. I felt these needed to be shared. Chilliwack Datsun, 1970's

Yeah dad loved how Datsun was. ...but because they used cheap metal, he wasnt too happy for me getting into newer 240's due to the fact that here in BC, most of these 70's cars are a pile or rust.

I'm kinda half the man my father was at the same age. By my age, 27, dad had already worked on Nuclear armed aircraft in the RCAF with extremely high security clearence. Him and 3 other people were the only people allowed in a certian alert hanger where a Voodoo was parked, 'ready to go'. Good old cold war stuff. He ended up going on to various jobs afterward, including Datsun and being a Park Ranger (back when rangers could arrest people).

And yeah, you are right, its not easy to get over a loss of a father. I had hoped he would be able to make it out this summer to hang out in the garage with me while I build my car. But that didnt happen this year. My build will be done next year sometime. I just hope to reach 500hp once for him. ...just spent $800 on rods, better get 500hp dang it!

Because everyone here will go through it one day, I highly reccomend keeping busy with things, and remember that most feelings sadness are selfish. Sure you will be sad, but in the case of Cancer, or even old age when the mind starts going, Its sometimes better to see them go out early, and in no pain. The biggest thing about dad was he hated to trouble people, and he felt so horrible having us look after him his last few weeks. I'm sure he is happy he went when he did instead of living for lets say living a year on medication and being unable to eat anything or go anywhere.

Just gotta keep on keep'n on!
