hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me out with this litte dilemma i'm having.

i saw an ad in the autotrader for this car:

Year: 1991
Make: NISSAN
Model: 240SX
Model Detail: SE
Price: $3,400
Mileage: 169,000 km
Date: 5/4/03
Ad Type: Private
Comment: Super Hicas 4WS 5 spd., fully loaded, sun roof, new jet black paint job, new clutch, new all around brake system, new exhaust system, runs great, one owner, 169,000 km., $3,400. obo.

Picture:

http://www.trader.ca/Search/Enlarged.asp?strPic=2790116&strYear=1991&strMake=NISSAN&strModel=240SX&strMile=169000&strPrice=3400&region=400&makeid=745&Categoryid=1&CAT=1

the only problem with the car is the back seat was torn, so the guy decided to rip it out and discard it. he also sold the radio from the car, but thats not a big deal. the thing is, the car looks great and the new paint is really good, but im afraid of how much a new back bench seat would cost me...if i could even find one.
I live in the toronto area, so i was wondering if anyone around there would have any idea where to find one cheap/free, or if anyone else had any suggestions. considering it has new brakes, exhaust and clutch, and a good interior other than the seats..does anyone know if this is good value or not? also, is there anything that i should pay specific attention to considering the info?

thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

The HICAS system is gonna **** you off when you start modifying the suspention. Other than that, or if you don't mind, go for it. It sounds like a nice car.

BS! It doesn't affect a thing.

Also, a back seat should be easy to find. People are constantly parting out their cars in the chassifieds section.

Doesn't bother anything, i have hicas also and have done most major suspension upgrades.

thanks.. yeah, for sure im gonna deal, but i don't think he'd let the car go for under 2900 bucks. this is in canada, so its not 170xxx miles, its kilometers, so its almost half the distance which doesnt seem to bad to me.
the car seems to run great, but its also not certified, so im a little iffy on that too. also..anyone know how much money 2 decent rear tires would run me? does 80 bucks each sound reasonable(cdn).

thanks again everyone.

i thought of another question, though im doubtful the answer is yes: would the rear bench seat from any other nissan models fit in a 240sx? also, how about the front seats?

sorry for being a pain..

yes, all S13 seats are interchangable. you just can't swap a rear coupe seat with a hatchback. the only differences are fabric. and S14 seats swap in the front too.

i see now that the mileage is only around 100k miles...that's not too bad. but not fantastic either. but $2900 CDN is cheeeeap. get it.

I have my back seats sitting in my garage right now. If you want them, you can have them cheap.

Is the price in US or canadian dollars? Because 3500 canadian isn't a bad deal for the car. But 3500 US might be a little more than you would want to spend.

Just make sure to check everything to make sure there aren't any other problems. I don't know if you mentioned it or not but check and see if there's rust under the spoiler or anywhere else.

good luck

the price is in canadian dollars..the guy hasnt sold the car yet an its been on sale for a few days so im hoping he'll be willing to part with it for 2900 or so. he's selling it because he lost his lisence driving it, so i guess he drove it hard, but it seems to run pretty smoothly.

thanks for the offer on the seats tim..too bad u live in philly tho, or i'd take you up on that but thats a bit of a drive from toronto unfortunately :P an there's no rust on it, thats the first thing i checked because it has a new paintjob.
thanks man..i think im gonna go look at 2 or 3 more tomorrow, then grab it tuesday if i dont see anything better.
