Hi I saw a 180sx for sale on Ebay. Reserve is 6000 and I think buy it now is 9000. They said I can easily be legalized because of its 240 counterpart in the states. Do you guys know anything about it and what will be needed to legalize the car. How much will it cost. Thanks. I searched and didnt find much.

They flat out lied to you.

To legalize a 180sx would cost a huge amount of money and you would have to go through huge amounts of red tape to do it. Crash testing cars isn't cheap, and that's what you would have to do.

i dunno, i remember talkin to this kid who had a jdm 180sx in socal. he said all he did was register it as a 240sx and when he went to get insurance and stuff for it, he juss said it was a show car with swap and everything. he SAID it wasn't hard at all. But then again he could have juss been bull****ting me.

Taking all the necessary steps to make the car legal, very hard.

Conning someone at the DMV, swaping a few vin plates, and lieing to your insurance company....not so hard. But not so legal either.

I argee with everyone else, don't do it. My friend Jonathan is having the same problem. He wants a Lotus, and doesn't want to wait for them to get to the states. So we have been AROUND our A*S and back trying to find ways to get around the insurance, and the legality of the car, needless to say, looks like no Lotus...
