ok so i was looking at the under carriage of my s13 today i noticed where the bell housing attaches to the engine, there was a hole without a bolt in it. my question is, is there suppose to be a bolt in that hole or is it for something else? i mean there in another bolt right by it so why would there be two bolts so close together?
btw this is a sr20det. it's the hole by the bolt in the red circle, and it's on the passenger side, very close to the clutch slave cylinder.

stick a small screwdriver in there to see if it goes in far...like a bolt hole to the engine side.
is the hole threaded?
i think that might be an alignment dowel. to line up the engine/tranny....

dude get a mirror and a flashlight and LOOK!
for all the time and effort you spent taking a picture, uploading it, and making a thread you couldve easily answered your own question.
if its threaded, get a bolt and install it. quite possibly there is an alignment dowel there.
ugh.

for realz. ^
Run without it. one or two bolts missing won't hurt.
whoever says it will can go and be gay.

Alright if it's the alignment dowel, should there be anything in it?

yes, there will be a pin pressed into the block that seats into that hole from the block side.
