Hey all

Here's the break down I have jic coilovers in my car right now but the spring rate is high in the front and back. I use the car for drag so my question is would it be better for me to buy softer springs for my jic coilovers or would it be better for me to lose the coilovers and go with shocks and springs? I'm looking to cut 1.6 1.7 at the track and I don't no if coilovers can do that ever with softer spring rates.

I'm also thinking about putting back the stock springs and stocks for now cuase there alot softer then the coilovers spring rates I'm running now what u all think i should?

Thanks for your help
Pat

if you want to cut 1.6 or 1.7 60 ft, I would rather pass on the springs and shocks and go spend the money on drag radials. You should be running consistant low 60ft with drag radials. Low 60 ft times are possible with coilovers. I've only done it once but I cut a 1.7 60ft with my tein super drift coilovers set on the lowest dampening and 245 45 17 bridgestone re-01r tires. With drag radials I know I could run 1.7 or 1.8 60 ft all night long.

What's the spring rate you run on ur coilovers? The problem I'm having is the spring rate in my coilovers are to stiff there no weight tranfer front the front to the back. If I keep the coilovers I would go with what spring rate for the best weight tranfer but yet not to lose what rate would I need 5k in the front and 4k inthe rear?

s14 tein super drift-10k/8k

don't get me wrong. You will most likely get a better launch with a strut/spring setup but tires choice is where its at for consistancy. There is just no way I am going to a strut/spring setup because I like my cars low and my car is not a drag specific car.
