I changed my radiator twice this week because both of them had a problem.

1. had a crack and was leaking air.
2. the top cover on the radiator popped off.

Can anyone let me know the reason why it exploded?

i went for a dyno and the top of the cover exploded off the car when it hit high rpm. one of the mechanics said it was because of the thermostats didnt get enough air. it wasent flowing through and it causes compression etc.

i changed the thermostats and for some reason i still see smoke. can anyone let me know wah sup?

i also encountered another problem.

white smoke started coming out as well. is it because its overheating?

does installing the radiator wrong cause overheating?

please let me know asap on your opinion.

^^ would that eliminate my heating and radiator problem?

and would i have to buy the kit or just the gasket?

head gasket...
i had a crack, i left it open for a day or 2. i sealed it with some stuff i found at home depot till i could get a new rad, once i sealed it the car over heated and shot water out the 2nd cylinder spark hole since the pressure had nowhere to escape.. do a pressure test on your cooling system as well as a cylinder compression test. my bet is head gasket.

ohh i see. ill probably do so.

if i was to change the gasket will the heating problem stop occuring? and do i just buy the head gasket or buy the kit?

i just ran my car. i seems to be fine right now.

but ill just change the gasket just in case.

anyone recommend the kit? if so i dont mind putting another 60 in if it causes less problems -___- lol

You do understand what a blown head gasket is, right?

It's not a $60, 10 minute job. The gasket may be, but the machine work to true the head and block aren't. Neither is the two hour teardown of the engine.

hahahaha

your nonchalant attitude towards a blown headgasket is the complete opposite of the normal reaction of this community.

it's usually more like OMGGGGGGGGGGGG BLOWN HG FMLLLLLLL

lol

yeah, i know its not that hard.

i was just wondering if i should buy the set or not.

AutoZone.com | | Head Gasket Set | HEAD GASKET SET (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsProduct.jsp?skuDescription=Felpro+/+Head+Gasket+Set&categoryDisplayName=Internal+Engine&fromString=&itemIdentifier=75307_3334_0_&productId=75307&sortType=&parentId=51-0&filterByKeyWord=&isSearchByPartNumber=&navValue=15100528&categoryNValue=&fromWhere=&itemId=528-0&displayName=Head+Gasket+Set&store=3354&searchText=&brandName=Felpro)

or just the gasket.

if i were you i would buy the whole set because you will have tear down the engine quite a bit and if you are already there it would be a great time to replace all the other gaskets :)
