I have been pondering and searching but I dont know the answers. I dont understand how the sr20 is so much better than the KA. I am young (17) and I want a project car I can work on for some years and eventually pretty much max out the power I can get from it. Now I dont know which way to go, sr20 or ka. I could get the sr20 but If I want to max power out I would have to get new internals to support the huge turbo that I would put on it, right? Isnt max turbo on stock internals 14 psi (on the sr). where with the ka I have .4 extra liters of displacement and I would still be adding a big turbo and internals. So If you completely modded a sr20 and a KA24de wouldnt the ka come out on top. Im talking everyting valves pistons cams rings springs rods crankshaft balancing ETC. I know you guys dont really like these kinds of questions but I dont know which way to go and I dont want to make a huge mistake. Thanks

it's been proven that both platforms can create rediculous amounts of HP, much more than you could ever handle driving. It comes down to personal preference.

Basically what I want to eventualy do is hit 10s and have a great handling car. I know 10s are asking a lot but it can be done right? also Which way would be easiest and cheapest. I know both will be hard and costly but which way is the best. Thanks.

Drag car? Stick with KA... you'll need all the torque you can muster.

If you wanted to you should look into a Rb series engine. Thats just what im planning. Lots of potential...

Easy and cheap into the 10s = does not compute, unless you can DIY a full engine build, standalone system, full roll cage (required under 12s), etc etc etc.

Please search for KA vs SR threads in this forum and on FA. This topic has been absolutely beaten to death.

To date (AFAIK) There have been at least one KA-T into the 10s, and a few KA-Ts and SRs in the 11s.
