To anyone with a 97 S-Chassis that had a problem with the driver side rear sitting lower than the Passanger side rear. Car is on a slant!
The difference is around 2" and it's so bad that you can see the slant standing behind the car.
I can also stick 1 finger between the rear passanger side fender and the wheel but can't even put a credit card between the driver side fender.
This is driving me crazy :smash:

Not sure what is going on but I thought my shocks/springs went bad but I changed to coilovers and it's still the same. Both rear coilovers are set at the same high but for some reason the Passanger side sits 1-2" higher than the Driver side :duh:? I also got new camber arms, toe arms, traction links, and rear tie bar thinking it would help but after my alignment it still sits the same but my camber and toe is all at the same settings. The alignment guy was able to get the car align but wasn't able to fit the slant. I have no clue now what it could possibly be.... I changed just about everything I think that might be the issue but nothing!

***Please help***

Here is a picture of my car and if you look closely you can see the gap on the passanger rear but no gap at all on driver side rear.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

ms S13 has always been 0.5 inches higher on the drivers side front. When I adjust the ride height to compensate, the obvious result is bad (uneven) geometry in the front and rear.

I chalk it up to hard driving and weak frames.

my car does it too..but only like 3 coilover threads above the others..have your car crash or getting into an accident with the previous owner or any accident somehow ? cause that could get the car frame twisted...the highest i see on a friend car is one side above the other about like 6 threads which is 1 inches..but your like 2" inches ?? dang,..

don't get stuck keeping even coilover length left to right. that doesn't mean shit because the car doesn't weigh equal 50/50 on each side.

if you want it to look correct, then by all means go ahead and raise/lower the height on the offending corner

if you want it to drive correct, then go get it corner weighed.

corner wieght dont really help much...only to some if you auto-x it..or if you just purcahse coilovers for show and look and daily driven then just adjust the car to the normal or whenever until it level off and no gap on both sides...other wise..nothing will help it being even

listen to aznpoopy
also, what kind of coilovers did you get?

i did not say corner weigh would help his problem.

if he got his car corner weighed, it would probably look even more uneven than it does now.

my point was you can get it to look correct or you can get it to drive correct, but not usually both. maybe someone out there has, but i suspect it would take a shitload of finagling with the corner heights on scales.

how bad is it when you park on level ground and not at an angle in a driveway?

It's the same on even surfaces. In the garage n on the road. It's so bad that everyone that drives behind me notices it and tells me.

I'm thinking it's the frame also. Not sure if it's due to a pervious accident tho....

I have also tried lowering the passanger side more n raising the driver side but it seems to say exactly were it is. Doesn't change!

^Thanks for the help everyone.

I had a similar issue

Subframe bushings were all fucked up, threw in some spacers and everything was dandy except for having to readjust everything

No more give rides to "Heavy People" as passengers.

I say check your arms and chassis for any damage or anything bent. Also what kind of coils do you have? is there any weird vibration or do you have any steering problems like it veering one direction?

No one touched on this, but I've seen it before. Are you adjusting/installing any of this with the car in the air, or on the ground?

I had a Z32 I worked on that even with the coilovers slammed, the car rode high. Turns out the owner had been tightening the shit out of the suspension arms at full droop, so it had zero give when lowered to the ground. You might loosen everything, let the car settle a good bit, then retighten it all up. And obviously don't overtighten anything.
