Making one with wood and flocking it would be heavier than the paper fiber OEM one, and probably not fit as well.
I'd just stretch some new fabric over the OEM one, it'll look good. As long as your rear window is tinted, it won't fade.

trunk lid.
see now thats better. in your original post you used DECK
which has an absolutely different meaning as to what you intended. a deck lid is the part that houses the speakers in a coupe. and the trunk is a trunk

Ya i could had sworn seibon made one but I could not find it anymore. And as per the Egay on it doesn't really matter i can always make it fit. I'm building the car for redline time attack so i am not too worried on the amazing fitment.

Absolutely not true, troll.
As he stated, the "REAR DECK LID" is a piece on a coupe that covers the REAR DECK, the metal crossmember between the C-pillars that house the rear speakers.
A trunk lid is the fucking trunk.
They're obviously, and completely different - especially considering the OP has '91 coupe' in his sig.
Considering this, I'd say to check out Chaser Aero - they're a site sponsor, and have fiberglass trunks pretty cheap. I rock a carbon fiber trunk from ABS Dynamics, you can PM "DUFFM4N" on here and see if he'll hook you up.

Calm down girls. Seems like your vag's are getting all filled with sand.
Trunk lid and deck lid mean the same thing. Though I've actually never heard anyone call the speaker shelf cover a deck lid.
Nissan calls the cover a "rear parcel shelf finisher" and the shelf a "parcel shelf" by the way.

The parcel shelf is the rear deck. The piece that goes on top would be deck lid.
Doesn't that make more sense than calling the trunk the deck lid? Cmon now.

I'm not making it up Jeff. It's called the trunk lid, deck lid, and boot lid. All the same shit.
And what you are calling the rear deck is called a shelf by Nissan. I've always called it the speaker shelf and so have many folks I've dealt with.
In the end it's whatever makes sense to you, but you have to remember not everyone calls everything by the same name.

Werd, that's exactly what I was trying to refer him to.

trunk and deck imply two completely different things. a "rear deck" in most cars is the shelf behind the back seats where the rear speakers are usually mounted. this is why "deck lid" could be taken to mean the cargo cover (see, i even used another name for it).
anyway, i think Nissan makes a pretty good one out of metal. i'd use that one.

IN what way am I a troll.
you were giving him false info for something as common as a deck lid.
The technical term for a trunk lid is a deck lid.
Any body shop would refer to it as such.
