So i finally got around to having my buddy build my cage for me. I started a thread of what color i should paint my interior once the cage was done....well its done so here it is.....

I had originally wanted to paint the car and interior the purple of the Honda Fit but i have changed that honda purple to a nissan purple....Midnight Pearl, im sure most of you nissan heads know what this color looks like. It should be getting sprayed this coming week or next. Got a ticket i need to pay for first.

That is so badass and robust looking..........I feel like you could just roll the shit out of your car at like 100 mph and be okay.......but don't do that.
Great pics of the build btw

Ok so here's another lil update.....got the car back Fri from being painted inside. I had many sleepless nights thinking of how I would go about the interior color. I contemplated many different scenarios like ALL white inlcuding cage or White with Purple cage or Purple with White Cage or ALL silver including cage and finally decided with all purple. I had alot of ppl help with the descision with pics of cars that had there whole inside one color including cage likes these.....
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p264/driftking180sx/purples13.jpg
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p264/driftking180sx/purples13inside.jpg
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p264/driftking180sx/allred.jpg
All those cars led me to my descision to keep it all one color. I aint gonna lie....in the beginning i wasnt really feeling it, i thought I made the wrong choice and felt maybe i should of gone all white or white with a purple or purple with the white cage but ater seeing the above cars and other cars that were posted for me i have made peace with it  If i ever decide to change anything it will be the cage, ill either get it resprayed another color or maybe wrap it with some cool stickers or something either way here it is.....YES....ONLY 2 pic's right now, as it is im not really satisfied with these pic's much less the others that i have , look like crappy cell phone pics so i will retake the pics when its a better day and post em again. Let me know what yall think good or negative

Thanks bro....yeah thats one of the issues that i thought bout when i first saw it.....i thought maybe it shouldnt of been cleared....oh well lol um for the door bars down the road i will. I was gonna do a 6pt with door bars before i painted but have decided to do the s13.5 conversion so i decided to save the cash from finishing my cage towards the conversion. This is still gonna be my daily driver and didnt really want to deal with climbing in and out of the car being my DD. Once i get a true DD i will go ahead with the full cage and get it resprayed...alot of ppl told me to finish the cage before i painted it but no biggie

The only bad thing I see is you welded to a bend in the main hoop. Reason the metal is weaker there becuase it stretches from the bender.

Or you could just do both...
Look similar to my old s13's bar (minus the rear x brace):

WTF The whole point is to have the bars go from the main hoop to the rear frame rails thats the best/ most effective way to build a cage. Now I see having a strut bar entwined into the roll cage being good.

Actually best most effective way would be to have them going to the strut towers considering there is more load being put on the shocks, purpose of a rear subframe on a car with IRS it to HOLD driveline/suspension components look it up. And what I was saying was why not have the bars going from the main hoop going to the strut towers, a bar going from strut tower to strut tower, and then an Xbar going from subframe connect to cross bar from strut tower. It's shorter, stiffens both points, and effective in both ways.
Shorter piping = stronger thats just a given so why have the bars going all the way to the back thats an extra 10-12''. Or if you wanna save space just run lateral bars instead of an X. I dont believe in strut tower bars, what would be the difference between a bolt in roll cage and strut tower bars you bolt in...

Idk where you get your info but the reason you build a cage is 1 for safety and 2 a more ridged chassis. The right way to build a roll cage is to build it into the frame. Have u ever noticed a well made race cage there are bars that go thur the fire wall to the front frame rails. Then the main hoops is welded directly to the frame and the rear X bars go to the rear sub frame. Yes it would help to have a strut bar entwined into the cage but that is not 100% proper way to build a cage.

:duh:
That extra 10-12'' = an extra 25° of angle on the bars connecting to your main hoop. Now tell me when your car flips over whats going to have a more likely chance of bending Longer piping with a 45° angle or shorter piping with a 70° angle. More angle also = a more likely chance of shearing.

Ok lets go back. The OP has his Xbars going only to the strut towers right?? Now since you are the cage master would you rather have your xbar going to the rear sub frame or the strut towers??? I NEVER said that connecting the bars to the strut towers was bad, I said in other words so you read it right A real basic roll cage goes from your main hoop to your rear frames rails because that is the main structure of the car THE FRAME RAILS. Dude even SCCA roll cage rules say " You must have two bars with no bends going from the main hoop to the rear sub frame". So are you saying SCCA guidelines are wrong??? The strut tower may be part of the frame but nothing is more apart of the frame then itself.:duh::duh::duh:

God your just not getting it, this is not a 57 chevy or a mustang II, it's a UNIBODY car the whole car is the frame. Anything behind the main hoop is the "rear", so the strut towers would be the frame on a unibody car. There are TONS of 240's in SCCA class that just run bars to the strut towers. I'm not saying that going to the rear subframe from the hoop is stupid I'm answering your question with detailed information, fuck.

I like how the main hoop diagonal splits the harness bar in half instead of the other way around, as posted by someone above.

Yes I know it is a UNIBODY car and that just makes it more necessary to have a cage that is welded to the frame to connect all the parts of the frame. I really think we both know what we are talking about I just think we are going around in circles here

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. Im happy with the end results of the cage and the paint. Like i mentioned in my post, i wasnt to fond of the paint at first but have been loving it more and more everytime i see it. It also helps by you ppl liking it also, lets me know that i didnt make a wrong decision in going all purple. Next up will be the conversion and then paint the whole car. I might as well start a build thread on here lol Also....I didnt build this cage to SCCA certifications. If i wanted to i would of. Maybe down the line...WAY later in the future i might go with a full out cage as posted above by "s14 Kouki" and "Not You" but thanks to all :)
