Yes I have searched, just looking for opinions or someone that has had a similar issue and successfully fixed it.

Problem: Excessive heat coming from underneath my cd player and by my gas pedal, same goes with passenger side. Also un-burnt gas smell inside cabin. This only happens while im on the highway. My car does not over heat. My only thought is Heater Core? Yes my car is running rich, Im still looking for what the reason is also..

Specs: Stock KA24DE, Headers, straight pipe 2.5 inch, intake.

If anybody can contribute to this thread with ideas it would be much appreciated.

The gas smell can mean a fuel leak somewhere, in my case it was the old fuel pump hoses crapping out on me. I not to sure about the heat though I thought it was just because of our old cars but my sisters 09 civic gets pretty hot around the gas peddle area as well even though the heat and stuff is not on.:loco:

good point, it happens mostly when im getting on the highway and flooring the gas, it slowly goes away after Im driving for a while on the highway but it goes in and out?. The heat is consistent, it gets annoying when driving long distances. Temp is set at cold.

I will check injectors/ fuel pump hoses. Thanks I will let u guys know if I find the problem. As far as heat.. the only thing i can think of is heater core is messed up.. all i know is that its not normal; but thanks for the input guys.

does your tranny have all of it's gear lube in it? That thing can get pretty hot after driving on the highway for a while.

If you are getting fumes in your cabbin you better check for an exhaust leak, and fuel smelling exhaust means running rich. Running rich will produce excessive carbon monoxide, the odorless, colorless, gas that is extremely deadly. If your driving and get a headache open the windows and pull over immediately. That is something you need to check out as soon as possible.

yes, same here No A/C. Most of the hot air is coming from under my cd player.. and by the gas pedal.. you can feel air coming through.. its not just heat u know? its almost like my heater is blasting on hot.. but its on cold.

I have replaced all my gaskets and checked for exhaust leaks.. Nothing.. and yes sometimes i get headaches from the rich gas smell.. i have to roll with all my windows down sun roof open.. Im going to have to park it until i figure everything out..

and yes i have the shifter boot with all the covers. That was the first thing i checked. I will check the tranny fluids just to make sure. Thanks

if you have gas smell in cabin, most likely its an exhaust leak coming from your header or something. I had the same problem when i was N/A and when i replaced the gasket for my ka-t manfold no gas smell ever again. Id check it out

i say,
heat:
ex mani leak
ur straight pipe
ex mani gasket
both dealing with shitty welding

gas smell
might wanna check the O-ring that seals around ur fuel pump, and the hoses
inject O-ring

i could go on but those are the first that come to mind
