I tried to search for a little while here and the world wide web, but I could not find exactly what I was looking for. Maybe someone recalls a thread or link to help out. I tried looking at my 240sx service manual, but it only tells me how to remove the cluster and not anything about the wires. I also need the R32 service manual.
I am trying to install this cluster in my 240sx. I am in the process of labeling the wires and making sure that I have everything needed. However, there are a few wires that do not make any sense and are the same color which is not noted from the list that I have.
I found the Nico stuff, which again, there are wires that are not mentioned and if it is, there are multiple wires.
Thanks!!

Most all Nissan clusters have the traces marked on the circuit board, it's pretty easy to just follow each lead and match it to the same lead on the 240SX cluster. I've never seen the R32 writeup but I've done a few different swaps by just doing that above.

The issue I am having is that the Tach Sensor is Yellow/Red stripe, but there are 2 other wires with the same setup. I did notice that one had a thicker red stripe than the other 2, but wanted to see if someone had schematics for the R32 cluster.
I want to get all the wires labeled before I start tracing. I have to drive the 240...haha.
Thanks for the help to! More comments/suggestions needed.

Look at the board and follow each trace from the tach to the plug socket. Only one will match up I bet to a yellow/red.

I traced the 3 wires and each one is coming from a different plug. So there is one Yellow/Red wire on each plug. Should I assume that the Tach is the middle plug?
thanks for the help.

All three wires go to the back of the circuit board to the tach? I find that hard to believe.
Again, you're doing it wrong. Look at back of the cluster. The tach is secured with silver screws from behind. Each screw is a contact point to the printed circuit board. Trace each of those four connections over to the plugs. One will be yellow/red. That is the tach signal.

That is the thing, they are only going to the back of the plugs. Do these pictures help? Are you talking about the metal box? There are only 2 wires coming from that.
Once I get this problem solved, I think I am going to make a How To Thread with pictures. lol

anyone know someone who did this?

I don't know how to word it and make it more clear.
There are silver machine screws that secure the tachometer into the cluster. They secure each gauge at each point. Those screws are the connection from the gauge (any of them) to the circuit board. In the picture I can't see, but on an S13 or S14, there are four screws on the tachometer. Each one of these screws is a connection to the board. Ground, power, signal, etc.
Now looking at your cluster from behind, where do those four connections go? Trace them from the screw over the board to the plug socket. Each one will end up somewhere, they may branch off or join other traces, but eventually they all terminate at the socket. One of those four will end at the socket to a yellow/red wire. It has to. That's your tach signal.
There's no other way to look at it, if you still don't understand, give up. There is no way to not read that and still be confused.

projectRDM...
I see what your saying as far as tracing. I was following the wire into the actual plug instead of looking at the circuit board after seeing where it plugged in to.
Wiring is not my strong point. But I would not have given up if I still did not get it because I am determined to get this sucker in. haha. thanks!

If i may ask, where did you get the cluster?
