in advance, thank you for your help and time.
i have a 1992 hatch se with 175 on the clock. Recently its been idling funny. For example, i start the car (at times) it has a hard time idling, i have to rev it beyond 1k rpm to keep it from stalling or dying. While driving at times when the car is placed in neutral it'll idle at 500. i advanced the timing and it seemed to help a bit, in other words, it doesnt do idle at 500 all the time, but still does.

It also seems to idle kinda rough.

could it be:
the distributer
idle air control valve
Fxxk im clueless.

Any helpful info is appreciated, thanks again.

well. i would start by changing the dizz rotor and cap, plugs, wires, air filter fuel filter just to get it out of the way.. then i would check vaccume. the bad idle sounds like a vaccume leack somewhere but it might not be.
pull the codes off the ecu and then reset it.

that should help in your quest for a good idle.
may as well check compression aswell. clean your MAF.. idk do all you can and get back to us with resualts :)
