My car died on decel so I pulled over and restarted it. It would run but tach showed 0 RPM. I tried to get it home while the tach was showing 0 RPM but the car died again after couple miles of driving. The car would restart while showing 0 rpm, but idle is very rough and it stalls if I give it some gas. Towed it home and tried a spare distributor thinking it's the camshaft angle sensor but it did the same thing. Occasionally, tach would work but it jumps up and down from 500-1000 because idle is rough. Here is what I don't get. The car has no code thrown, and idles and drives ocassionally when tach is 0 rpm. If CAS was bad, would it still run at all? Why does not throw a code when CAS is not working? Also, when CAS is working I still get rough idle and it stalls. The car will idle fine if I disconnect MAF but it bogs around 4k rpm. This is my only car so I need it fix it asap. Any help is appreciated!
