MAF not reading properly? But that would probably making it run super lean

car has a Haltech E8 and is MAP based. So that can't be it.

I dont know why but I swear I read that it was an SR
Good luck though

Just because it has an SR doesn't mean it can't have a MAP sensor.

Check your IACV yet? Try adjusting it to see if it gets lower. If the idle doesnt change, its probably stuck open. Take it off and try to clean it off with brake clean.

I know of people using MAP but I havent seen it all that commonly used.

Yes engine is an SR.

I have a haltech E8 using a MAP sensor.

on an s14/s15 SR isn't the AAC and IACV the same thing? I checked and it was clean. I even screwed the idle screw in all the way and problem was still there.

Did you unplug the TPS when you adjusted the screw?

Sounds like TPS needs to be checked out or changed.

I unplugged the TPS and started the car and it still idled at 3-4k.

Doesn't this mean the TPS is not the problem considering it was unplugged and the problem remained?

i bet it is... i had the same problem recently. when i checked the cable at the tb, it seemed to be releasing just fine. finally one time i checked it and it stuck. what happened was there is a part of the throttle cable where its like glued together from the factory on the outside rubber part. it split there and was catching on itself. i put a dab of super glue on it and havent had the problem since.

edit: you visually saw that the tb is closed when your idle is that high? for sure? if that is the case you have a vac leak after the TB. your motor needs air to rev, and if your tb is closed, that air has to be coming from somewhere. maybe your IM gasket? have you inspected your plugs? a leak near one runner will cause a lean condition on that cylinder.

I took off my cold pipe and the TB looked flush on the inside.

I am gonna go just start ripping my intake mani apart.

found the problem when taking intake mani off.

the PCV metal thing popped out of the intake mani (red circle below)

I put the black RTV high temp silicone to try and resecure it.

Will this be enough to keep it from popping back out?

you realize that fitting is seeing boost.... just get it welded... or youll be doing it again

Ya but I don't think that can be welded together, they are two different metals.

Maybe I should use JB weld instead.
