So I found an ACT heavy duty 6 puck clutch for sale on a local forum for only $100 obo, and he claims there is only 2000km on it.

He also said however that he was surprised when he got it how little "meat" there was on the clutch even when it was brand new. So it has got me wondering how much life is really left on the clutch.

How long do aftermarket clutches such as the ACT generally last?

What things to I need do look for to measure the amount of wear on the clutch?

call me a cheapass but i'm pretty sure he would take $80 canadian for a clutch kit worth $300 USD + shipping to canada, so it seems like a good deal.

invest in a good name brand clutch. exedy, os giken, hks, nismo, anything along those lines and then you wont have to worry about it again if its installed/adjusted correctly

Doesnt matter what fucking brand it is if it wasnt broken in properly, itll still wear faster and slip.

Anways, I'd say take a picture of the plate and post it up so we can see.

I'm getting a NS1-HDR6 installed right now myself. Yeah the clutch looks thin, just the design. The solid 6 puck clutch also isn't recommended for street use, more for track or drag. But I've got a couple buddies who have been using theirs on their daily drivers for over 6 months now with no complaints. Both have long commutes to work easily putting 300-500miles on their cars a week. I wouldn't worry about his comment saying it doesn't have a lot of meat on it, just worry if he glazed the clutch or anything, broke it in properly. Ask him to send you a good picture of it, post it up like fliprayzin240sx said. Good luck
