Newbie Here

[240SXceleration]

Just getting my feet wet with the whole 240SX/SR20 swap craze that's going on these days. Right now I drive an Acura Integra GS-R but thinking of selling to start a new project... S14 240SX with S15 conversion and SR20 swap with custom turbo setup.. like everyone else on here I'm sure. Around here everyone drives Honda/Acura or DSM's. So I'm looking to put Nissan up on top with the big dogs around here. So any help is appreciated and maybe point me in the right direction with my plans. Thanks in advance.

I said I'm selling the car to do a 240SX/SR20 swap project... and I'm supposed to get flamed here? Don't get me wrong, I love my car but I'm ready to move on besides.. I owned 3 Nissans before my Acura.

Some people in this forum tends to flame/scare away newbies in this forum for asking legitimate questions / comments that's inapropriate for the Supreme-King-Master 240sx owners (they swear they are!).

Good luck with your new project, you'll get heat cause all of the ricer mags (Superstreet, Import Tuner) are just feeding on the 240sx craze.

And sr20 isn't necessary to go fast, just look at PSI240sx KA-T. 11's. Insanity. :D

Actually I've known about the 240SX and Silvia since I started getting into Nissans (trucks) back in 97. I almost bought one but was more into bagging and body dropping trucks at the time. I've owned a 1997 Nissan Hardbody, 2000 Nissan Frontier, 2001 Nissan Frontier, then my 97 Acura Integra GS-R. Even knowing back then that I had the KA24 in my truck and that it shared with the 240SX. Hell I even seen the SR20 swap in the Hardbody trucks at the time too so I by no means am not just getting into this. What I meant by getting my feet wet was actually focusing on the dynamics of the car and wanting to build one. My knowledge is amature I will admit when it comes to this car but I know my fair share.. and just I like I did with my B-Series engine and DC2 chassis.. I will learn it inside and out eventually. I guess ever since I got my Integra over 2 years ago and started wanting to go faster and faster then started getting into autocrossing and then started seeing what the guys in Japan are doing drifting these RWD cars all over the place and even having competitions.. I mean where else would I get my inspiration from? So next comment...

well welcome to the board, hope your can bring some insite and join in on the community. but the flame suit was how you stated your "like everyone else on here I'm sure". Just bad to make assumptions and there are a few people who like this or that, but a majority of the regulars just like clean cars, nothing to join a trend. but individuality comes at a cost, and being a follower is just easier (not sayin you are, but most people are doin the whole s15 headlights etc). again, welcome.

Well the "as everyone else on here I'm sure" quote meant.. pretty much everyone on here would love to have the best.. which would be the S15 Silvia hooked up in every way right? So when I said that I wanted to do an S15 conversion that's what I meant like everyone else on here I'm sure.

But hell.. I wouldn't even mind doing the JDM S13 conversion as well.. I like those too. What can I say.. I've always been a Nissan fan and I want to build a badass car. So like I said.. we'll see what happens.

I don't really like the S15 front I am doing an s13 silvia fornt on my car i like it better down load the FSM'S for both s13 and s14 ad the s13 fsm covers the car but with the CA18 and the S14 manual covers the SR20 I think they are somewhere on this site can't remember right now as i am very tired it will help alot if you cannot find them i have it on CD just e-mail me and i will send you the files freshalloy also has a great tech archive no dis on this site but it has not been around as long i usually search there and if i have questions i post here

That's my only real (BIG) beef. I wish you good luck. It's good to see you came with the attitude of knowing you're (at least something of) a newbie, but you're willing to do your part to find out info, and you're not afraid to ask ?s.
