Ive seen alot of racing videos and some of the tire specs were 45 sidewall front and 40 in rear.

the only thing i can think of these helping with is height

anyone have any clues?

im talking about 17 inch rim also

40 to 45 sidewall isn't gonna help you get much height......just get the 40 it will look better

Perhaps they were 17/18 stagger?
Or when there is a large enough difference in width, a 40 sidewall can actually be taller than a 45 sidewall.
For example, a 245/40/17 tire would be taller than a 205/45/17.

or they were staggered in width.

215/45/17 or 225/45/17 Front
235/40/17 or 245/40/17 Rear

well you cant really say with out the other specs you're missing, to give you a good answer for what they were doing using those sizes..

...wheel width

...what overall mm width

ill do 215/40's up front next

i have 225/45/17's all around on 9" wheel. its perfect really. i might go 235/40 though for a little more tire hopefully making the tires square with the wheel.

i would figure they go with 40's in the back for less wall flex if that makes any sense.... idk :hide:
