Ok, i'm gonna go ahead and replace the guagecluster clear plexi-glass cover, b/c mine is messed up. I also have a set of white face guages from import intelligence that i will be putting on.(i got them a year ago and never installed them) on top of that i was thinking of getting the red glow needles while i was @ it, but they are expensive as hell and frankly i dont even care that much, but i did see these colored guage bulbs (http://www.importintelligence.com/FMPro?-DB=cart.fp3&-Format=194.html&-Token=12608852&-RecID=12608852&CustID=194&-Edit), it says they'll change the color of the numbers on the speedo. and odom. and all the good stuff. and they are only $10
has anyone had any exp. with this and how easy is it to install the bulbs?

yeah its easy
takes about 1.5 hours to pull cluster out
then remove each bulb and go form there!
what year car? my 92 is 13 small bulbs, 5 large bulbs

my hud cluster had more bulbs iirc, like 18 small and 8 large? i forget

ok not sure exactly how the bulbs will look but they are very easy to install they are right on the back of the cluster(if i remember right). Don't and i mean don't get the light up needle things I bought them and tried installing them myself and they were such a pita because they are tiny ass wires that you have to connect to the needles and they break very easy. I wasted $80 because i snapped like 2 of the wires trying to install them.

The only way i would say to get them is if you are very good at DIY installs or if you have a place install them for you. But i had the same idea i have the white faced guages and thought it would look cool with the light up needles but it was just a waste of time and money after breaking the stupid little wires.

Hope this helps

I have experience with colored bulbs: they fade quickly and not equally. So basically, after a month, you get different colors in your cluster! As for leds: too bright. They light up as "spots" in your cluster. Best option? Xenon gas-filled bulbs with colored transparent plastic sheets you put behind the cluster elements. Looks nice, equal light output and no bulb fade.

I have that brand bulbs in my sidemarkers and they are great, had them for a year and haven't faded yet. They are really good quality. were pretty expensive too for little ass bulbs

yeah, i got the cheapo $2 a pack bulbs from pepboys. The right side of my cluster looks dark red while the left side looks pink. Argh, i guess i'll have to do it right and get the nice ones.

That clear plastic cover is expensive! i messed mine up by spilling some dash cleaner agent on it. New from the dealer it was $34 =/

oh well, the little things that costs money and adds up.

the ones that wont fade are natural glass instead of painted glass.

they can be found but are about twice the price of painted glass
