shredded tire raped body. opinion on repair?

so im driveing along and my tires tread ripes off.. and the rubber slapps my body to death and bends the piss out of it.. now my question for you body work guys is how should i go about fixing this, bend it back down and try to hammer it straght, or clip a 240 in the junkyard and find someone to weld it in.. or get a body shop to fix it all.. keep in mind im pretty broke.. opinion?

Cut/weld is one way, or pull, hammer, massage into shape. Either way will take a good deal of filler and bodywork afterwards.

What Russ said. If you plan to do this yourself, I would invest in a slide hammer and weld on some tabs to pull from. Its going to take a minutes, so just go into it knowing that.

seriously i would go to the junk yard find a car with a good rear piece and cut out a big chunk. Cut out the chunk above the pin stipe area. drill some holes in the new chunk weld onto just below pin stripe area, use that definition line tohide the edge with some bondo and sanding.

Thats a easy 3 hour repair with a lower section from the yard if you know what yur doing. Im a collision tech. fixing the damage will be a pain, im sure its ripped in a couple places anyways. A nice cut and section at the lowest bodylinbe and careful welding will be the best bet in my eye.

with the money your gonna use to get it done at a body shop, you might as well just save up for an aero kit, nice set of rims and tires. while your saving your money take some time to work on getting it back into place :bigok:

Actually the only reason I dont have a kit currently is because I dont have any damage to hide, so I figure im going to not waste any money on a kit untill I need one. If I had one now Id have to buy another once I damage it.

haha yeah. the panel is quite bowed out as well so evin getting the areo to fit will be a pain in the ass. but its less work than trying to fix that.. i tryed to pull it down a little and it wont move at all, it joined all the other layers of steel and it just wont move. always check your tires guys lol

You may need to cut your car first to see how messed up the metal is behind it, that way you know exactly how much material is needed from the junkyard.

Any time we see these two statements together it pretty much knocks the body shop out of consideration.

At best it will be hundreds if not even thousands to fix that to original condition.

considering you probably drove your tires to the belt, going with a bodykit will not help lol... leave it alone and save money to buy some proper wheels/tires.
