So my powersteering was making alot of nasty squeeling noise when i would turn the wheel, it had a good fluid level and so i checked to see if anybody else had this problem and i saw that it could be that maybe the belt is a litle loose, so i made the belt more tight, now it makes noise not as much as before but the the steering wheel feels a little hard to turn like if there was no p.s, sould i tightened the belt more or from what you guys hear is there something else i should do.
any help is good and well appreciated.

go to the longest part of the powerstreeing belt and twist it with your fingers it should only twist alittle bit

i found the problem, the intake was pinching on the ps feeding line.

Sorry to bump this thread, but i'm having a really annoying issue with my powersteering pump. I just installed powersteering, and had the belt nice and tight, and it will be fine daily driving. BUT as soon as I try either steering fast, or get into boost/full throttle, the fucking belt will loosen up. It did this a couple times, and I got to the point of using a jack handle to pry my pump up and tighten the belt, but it STILL loosened up as soon as I got on it, why the hell won't it stay tight?

Maybe you have a crappy belt and it keeps stretching. A couple more times and it could snap off. Try marking the tensioner to see if that is actually moving or the belt is stretching. Just an idea.
