Well from what i can tell, the bulbs you have are H1.

Not too familiar with that ballast though.

Do you have any idea where the ballasts came from, or what car?

z32 didnt come with HID,.. jdm probably though

the red harness on the ballast dont plug into yoru factory bulb harness? then the other end should go to the hid bulb. your hid bulb just has assorted plugs on it to fit the many types of ballast out there.

well the red part should connect to the 2 little adapters, that way it uses the new bulb instead of just feeding power to the old red part.

wahh? draw a diagram
its been a while since i played with aftermarket hid. some plug straight off your old harness, some require relay and power from battery etc.

Give us a closer pic of the ballast, well one of those will have to tap your old harness and the other to the bulb, you will have to do some wire splicing/crimping than.

Ballest wont work unless you get a different plug for it somehow, probably cheaper to just buy new ballast... that bulb plug (red one) is for a D2S/D2R BULB which is for OEM application (Cars that come factory with HIDs) most aftermarket ballast will have the plugs you need for your bulbs...

but if i wanted to use what i had, i could go in and splice correct? i just didnt want to F it up unless i knew it would work

Thats what you need to do, Just make sure the power/ground go to the right side(The shit circled in green on your pic) Those bulbs are not generally go to phillips ballast so make sure.

buddy buddy buddy.........

you do understand that the large connector you are suggesting to SPLICE carries a current of around 25,000 fucking volts?

read the label on your philips ballast, HIGH FUCKING VOLTAGE.. danger, death, etc........

my best suggestion is to quit fucking with shit you dont know how to work with, because you can get hurt and possible die (which would be darwinism at best, but i digress)

the rebased hid bulbs you own are illegal, not sure if you knew that. but lets continue

assuming you want to hook that shitty setup, you need to get a d2s connector and convert it to high tension pigtails like the ones on your bulb.

the ballast power connector is a 9006 connector, you connect the male end on your car as the ballast should be fitted with the female (receptacle)

keep fucking around with this cheap shit, hopefully one day you'll realize that the 96-99 factory j-spec xenon headlights are superior to those garbage 90-96 headlights.

It's actually a D2S or D2R. THe ballast appears to be an OEM type ballast, or a good copy of oem type ballast.

THe bulb is a cheap replacement bulb which will not work.

YOu must buy Sylvania, Piaa, bosche, osram, hella OEM D2R or D2S bulbs or equilalent to make it work. You're looking at $100-200 for the bulbs. And D2R and D2S won't fit in our 240's. If you're lucky and had H4 (s13 pop up with h4 housing, Silvia Bricks, or S14) you can but H4 to D2R/D2S adaptors.

That ballast will not work on H1 headlights because I don't think you can make it fit right and they don't have an H1 to D2S/D2r adaptor from what I know.

Do this... or buy a cheap $50 hid kit. or replacement ballasts for $35-40
If you can't do this, go to autozone and get some JDM Silverstar bulbs. =)
