I wouldn't have had any problems with the chick,
if the incident didn't involve inconveniencing others, & taking up public resources.

The problem here though, is that the article is fairly vague on details, and the interview is in what I'm guessing to be Swedish.
Did the girl really intend to off herself, or was it just to stir up controversy to get attention?
I'm inclined that it was just attention seeking behavior.
I don't buy the 'art' and/or 'social criticism' excuse.
There's nothing remotely artistic about killing yourself on some shitty highway,
and I highly doubt that is the best way to say something socially profound.

About Suicide and Art, this isn't exactly a modern controversy.
IIRC, the Japanese have long used REAL suicide as a medium for expression of art.
There are even books printed on how to carry out the procedure in several ways.

Speaking for myself, I know I'd prefer to die in some ways over others (art or not).
Death by laughing gas would be preferable to say shotgun blow to the head or something likewise ghastly.

It does not mean you have to acknowledge it to be art.

It's one thing to criticize one idiot who was attempting to make art (which I think is a lie & lousy excuse btw).
