clearcorners jerk: i went ahead and added some additional sealant as the lights you sent me were used, just to ensure proper seal
clearcorners jerk: then gave them a good polish to make them look like new
clearcorners jerk: think me or you should post them on zilvia?
clearcorners jerk: or naah?
thatguy: Go for it. Fine with me.
thatguy: These lights are going to make the rest of my car look like crap. lol
clearcorners jerk: these fuckers are cheap, theyre going to try to steal your car now
thatguy: They can't find it. :-D

Long story short, I built some lights for Barry (thatguy).. some dual LED corner lights so that he has some working turn signals (finally) in his beatup S13 coupe. I'll let the pics do the talking...

Yes, the lights lightup as parking lights and switch to amber when the turn signals are activated. The side-marker (amber strips) in the corner illuminate dimly with the parking lights and also reach full intensity when the turns/hazards are activated.

Enjoy Barry!

Seriously, these lights are probably going to be brighter then my Bricks. :ddog:

It'll be nice to finally have working corner lights in my car though. :rawk:

They look great. So both clear and amber parts light up simultaneously and get brighter when signals are on right?

these were the same ones that were dismantled yesterday right? or were they different ones?

ixfxi

Those are the ones you saw, the only difference is now they are done (finally). Barry has been waiting patiently for many months now... but then again, he didnt buy new lights (sent me used ones) and so I needed to spend extra time doing restoration on them.

Yes, it was a spur of the moment type decision, so I grabbed the first set of lights I could. I actually never saw them. I got hooked up by a Premie who sent them straight to Mike. :rawk:

you mean that photo? i stumbled into it on the Z forums a few days ago, pretty cool! arnel is a good guy, hes one of my first and most loyal Z32 customers.. a real fanatic. I'm trying to get him to (budget) and do the rest of his lights. I've got a new set of Z32 headlights being developed, as well as new S13 Silvia, R32, and new R33 headlights. i am hoping to cram in OEM bi-xenon optics with integrated ballasts. i've successfully managed to complete the first ever set for the SC/Soarer and the Supra, now the nissan stuff is next. get this, i'm even working on a kit for the A31 Cefiro. what a weird car.. its like a cross between S13 Silvia and Skyline.

I'm not a paying advertiser here or on any forums for that matter, so I will not get into pricing or anything like that. I think posting pics of my work is already borderline shady in terms of shameless self-promotion, but whatever.. this post was for Barry... and he could've easily made the thread himself.

If you or anyone on the forum has the urge to waste money on my products and wait endless months for me to fabricate them, I can be reached via phone or e-mail.. contact info is on the website.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone (though I dont mind brutal open criticism if anyone feels like talking some smack!) :-)

I think this page should answer all of your questions:
ClearCorners.Com [ nissan ] (http://clearcorners.com/products/nissan/240sx1/f_corner/)

One thing my corner lights do that the OEM lights dont, is act as turn signal lights. you can of course wire-up your OEM silvia corner lights to act as turn signals, but you wont get much light output from that 5-watt wedge bulbs. Same as those crappy DMAX S13 kouki dual bulb position lights, they're a joke.

I think Barry didnt even have turn signals, so I am sure his car will benefit from these lights.

ThatGuy
08-26-2009, 01:31 PM
Well, I do have turn signals in the bumper, as well as position lights, utilizing the amber/clear JDM lights. However, they only show people who can see the front of my car that I am turning. These will now allow anyone beside me, and in front of me know what my lane change plans are. Plus I never had my original corner lights hooked up at all. They are just there for decoration at this point.

So two birds, with one really nice looking stone.

^^ That, and I still dream to live like a fucking HUMAN BEING and one day have things like properties, health insurance, retirement money, etc etc etc...

Plus, what most consumers dont understand is that when you the consumer support a good company, that company in return offers continual support for their products which you most likely own. Maintaining this balance is key. This is why I dont mind buying lots of OEM replacement parts for my old car, and I hope (and pray) that NISSAN continues to support us with products for our cars as the years progress.... even though they're old and essentially out of date.

No, I've seen them in person. Arnel is a friend of mine. I recognized his car on your website, hahaha. He is such a Z32 fanatic though. His cars are both nice and he is a true enthusiast. I was wondering if you'd be able to line the bottom of the blinkers with LEDs the way you did with Barry's light? I kinda like that look.

believe it or not, arnel had to convince me to make version 2 which i really didnt want to do. above are pic is of version 1 which has been available for years now

i think it turned out pretty good, because arnels version looks really good with the look of his car.. but either way, i can build either one you desire.. i just havent updated the site with pics of version 2 yet.

im also building a bi-xenon LED version of the 96-99 j-spec headlights, ive got 2 pairs i am building up at the moment. should really fucking kill the Z community, since most people are spending money on those shitty fake j-spec chrome headlight inserts. have you seen those? its rather embarrassing that people are trying to convert their older lights to APPEAR like newer jspec hid lights. its almost as bad as s13 guys buying fake 180sx tail lights.

Yeah, it's cool, but not the style I'd rock on my car. The bi-Xenon idea sounds cool, but I've never liked the inserts, even on the OEM ones. I'd rather have my stock lights worked on and converted. Can't wait to see the new results.

the stock 90-96 headlights are puke, they're so dated.

compare them side by side off of the car and its immediately obvious. some months ago, driftfreaq let me borrow a pair of 90-96 headlights. my wife walked into the office, saw the lights and said "what are these ugly things" .. they look like fishtanks, all that space only for 1 projector and 1 reflector. i dunno, i think they look like puke.

the newer lights are obviously more expensive, but look tits. i can kinda understand wanting the older lights if youre going for a basic sleeper look, but with the added benefits of the HID-spec lights.. its a no brainer. just like 96-98 180sx tail lights, sure you can attempt to make something better... but to date, no one has. (unless you count my upgrade to those lights)

im sure you'll see some posts once the lights are completed. at the moment i am finalizing the new 97-98 bi-xenon headlights for the s14. its been a long haul but i think you guys will like what you see (xcept the price).

if you dont like the insert, than have it painted black. should make it more low-key like the previous headlights.

ive got a new top of the line hid kit coming out, its tri-xenon.. you know, like fisher price makes the tape-deck for kids? this is for people that want to TRY xenon

it will be priced competetively, 57 dollars for tri-xenon hid kit (im going to price-out all the other vendors on this site and CRUSH the competition)

you gotta login the website and put " BHcorners " as coupon code, then wait 14 months for coupon rebate. its all plug and play, only need to splice 30 wires.
