new guy with questions

hi everyone my name is john........im new........and yea i dont drive a nissan. [if it gets me any points i do really really admire the silvias/240's]

i live in the US and a friend of mine and i am going to look at a 1990 nissan 240sx. basiclly my question is what are the main things to look for what are that models trouble spots. like for instance i drive a 86.5 supra, and i know that in that car i could have expected cracked leather and i wanted to make sure the HG was not blown. any advise will be smiled apon:D (widly.....heh).

Besides the normal stuff you check on all cars, I would specifically look at the spoiler area of S13 hatchbacks for rust and also lift up the carpet in the truck to see if its damp from the hatch leaking. Also the timing chain rattle, which is caused by the timing chain guides, look for that. You'll probably notice wear on the drivers seat were it sticks out alittle, cause that is common on S13's. Thats all I can think of for now, search the forum you'll get alot of threads like this.

thanks very much for the advice.......just as a greenhorn question, the USspec 1990 model 240sx is techniclly the same as an S13? like i said before i am new and im sure there is a post some place but i am just relating it to the fact that CA18guy refured to it as one.
