Just introduced myself on these forums so I might as well post my project ps13 up here.

I live in the Netherlands and bought the car in Germany with only 85.000kms (about 52k miles) on the clock but the big end bearings had gone allready and so the engine was stuck.

I completely stripped the car in search of rust. It is a very common problem with the 200sx's in Europe, fortunately virtually no rust turned up at all, not even under the standard wing which is quite rare, the car must have been kept indoors during its life in Germany. All good news :D.

The tomei strut-brace didn't fit, found out the Nismo engine mounts raised the engine, so I bought these GT-spec engine mounts from Japan.

Some interesting facts,
standard engine mounts: 68mm thick, weight1,45kg
Nismo: 72mm thick, weight 1,90kg
Gt-spec: 48/58/68mm thick, weight 0.8kg (with 1 spacer)

The washer fluid container would'nt fit because of the intercooler piping so I chopped it, melted an old soap bottle around the hole and sealed it.

This kit was modified so that the wastegate dumped back into the exhaust system. I thought it was super nice but unfortunately the LHD steering rod was in the way. Now it will get a screamer pipe which I still need to get made (I can't weld:D).

I see a spoiler in one picture, but not the others. Hopefully you are planning to add something similar. In my opinion (and that is all it is, my OPINION) the fastback needs a Wangan style wing to attempt to "square off" the rear end. The stock rear end is too rounded to flow with the very blocky Silvia Aero front you are using.

Looks to be a very clean job thus far though.

I'm thinking about a way of mounting it so that I can remove it at any given time I want without showing any holes in the lid, I got inspiration from a HKS kansai s14 wing I purchased for someone, it was mounted with brackets that wrap around the outer edges on the trunk lid.

To finish off the back I also have some rear aprons lying around, exactly the same as these;

I personally never really liked the look of the oem kouki aprons. Together with the front-lip and wing they will be the only frp parts on the car. edit, forgot about the bomex mirrors not sure if I'll keep those though.

By chance I picked up a 240sx rear bumper just yesterday. I have not registered the car in the Netherlands yet. But when I do by fitting the 240sx rear bumper I hope to be getting a note on the registration papers that allows me to legally (you'll get a ticket otherwise) use smaller ones, the same size as on my gt-r. They have to do that for imports from Japan and the US with the smaller inserts. I'll just say the car came with that bumper and pray they will fall for it :D.

Looks like you used quality parts and didn't take any shortcuts. Personally, I don't like the look of the Silvia front on a fastback, but love it on the coupe. so wait, did you buy anything from rhdjapan? or did you use them to ship your stuff to holland?
and how much did it cost to ship that giant box? and by what method was it shipped?
Yes, I deal quite a lot with them, and they've been great to me. At the time they had a lot of used wheels in stock, I also ordered new parts from them and parts from the yahoo auctions and they put everything in that box. If I remember correctly filling the box and shipping cost me 950,- euro's (without contents:duh:) with a weight limit of 1000kg's, that's a long time ago though, currency rates were a lot different and the yen rate was really low back then. The box was shoved inside a sea container and I had to pick it up at the harbour in Rotterdam myself. I don't know if they still do boxes like this, but for used parts from the yahoo auctions they have a new website Real Time Bidding on Japanese - bidJDM (http://www.bidjdm.com) .

The Grex sandwichplate/oil adapter block cracked after I screwed in an oil pressure sensor too tight (bye $),

Used that as an excuse to order a tomei n2 oilblock, it came in just yesterday together with a new 88mm q45 tb gasket. Instructions with torque settings for fitting sensors were also included:D.

Fitted the Greddy breathertank with a selfmade aluminium bracket, and I also got new Mikalor Supra W4 stainless hose clamps (still have to order one for the q45 tb) (please note there is masking tape on the intake plenum badge because I am going to polish it, it is an original greddy item not a fake without the badge)

They're endless 6-pots with endless r33 gt-r size 324mm 2-piece endless discs, endless brake lines and endless sss pads, I have z32 2-pots for the rear.

The sard 850cc were not exactly plug&play like the nismo's but they're in. I had the fuel rail re-galvanised, polished the injector caps and used socket-cap screws instead of the worthless Nissan screws.

Almost everything on the intake side is finished, fitting the tomei oil block with the engine in was quite a hassle. Finished polishing the greddy intake, I have very limited tools so it didn't turn out as I had hoped but it will have to do (until I ever get better tools). Refurbished the throttle body somewhat and custom made an aluminium bracket for the throttle cable. Everything is bolted/torqued with new nissan gaskets so I hope I won't have to take it apart for a long time coming.

Thanks all :D. The interior is taking shape, fitted the recaro spg seat on the drivers side and moved the recaro sr to the passenger side. I used the standard sliders and made some brackets myself, it doesn't sit too high.

Received a package yesterday evening with brackets for the 6-pot compact mini's, with these I can fit them with standard sized s14 280mm discs (sumitomo 4-pots with 280mm discs are standard in europe) as opposed to the 'inch up' 324mm discs. Now I can fit smaller wheels whenever I feel like it....:rofl: without having to fit other calipers/bleed the brakes.

Almost everything on the intake side is finished, fitting the tomei oil block with the engine in was quite a hassle. Finished polishing the greddy intake, I have very limited tools so it didn't turn out as I had hoped but it will have to do (until I ever get better tools). Refurbished the throttle body somewhat and custom made an aluminium bracket for the throttle cable. Everything is bolted/torqued with new nissan gaskets so I hope I won't have to take it apart for a long time coming.

@rakooda, I've owned the car for 4 years now, it's not a continuous build though (+ I have other cars to enjoy ;) ), it's been left standing for numerous months in between. The engine is not running right now as the turbo still needs proper installing, so I don't know how the vgtt behaves yet.

I see a spoiler in one picture, but not the others. Hopefully you are planning to add something similar. In my opinion (and that is all it is, my OPINION) the fastback needs a Wangan style wing to attempt to "square off" the rear end. The stock rear end is too rounded to flow with the very blocky Silvia Aero front you are using.

Looks to be a very clean job thus far though.

It is a koyo copper. I bought it used with some nasty scrathes on the top endtank, applied some paint stripper and polished it up, it needs a polish every now and then to keep it shiny:D

What kind of power are you/are you looking to make?

How is spool time on it?

I've pieced together a K3T kit (mint 3070 turbo, machined manifold adaptor, C42 wastegate w/ ceramic coated 304ss screamer, custom 3" ceramic coated 304ss downpipe w/built-in flex pipe, ss braided feed line, custom oil return hard line) for my rev3 3s-gte MR2 and am just kind of trying to plot out my power goals, as well as estimate power band.

I'm really hoping for 350-400 hp to the wheels (depending on fuel, cams, and boost level), spooling and making power in the area of ~4000rpms on my mildly built 2.0L (upgraded stainless TTE head gasket, ARP head studs, cleaned and re-decked head, intercooler, full 3" exhaust, 4" intake, HKS valve springs, and more than likely 264 cams, Power FC, 255 LPH fuel pump, adjustable FPR, undecided on injectors [currently factory 550cc's] ) spinning it to 8-8500rpms.

I know the previous owner made 345whp at 18psi on a stock fuel system, and an un-opened motor with lesser bolt ons (2.25" downpipe, intercooler, 3" intake).

Tough to find legitimate info... so much different information being tossed around, I don't know what to believe, ahah. Seems like a lot of misinformation, too.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

@eklips3, Yes, both LHD and UK RHD, all European s13 200sx's came only with ca18det's, and all s14 200sx's only with blacktop vvt sr20det's.
@wh0aitznic0, I don't remember what was in that box, sorry :D, but there are no spoon parts on my car.

I hope the next part makes sense, English is not my native language so I appologize in advance for any mistakes.

The front calipers did not clear the spokes of my rims with r33 gt-r size 324mm discs/brackets, I could fit spacers, but the wheels will stick too far out of the wheelarch with sensible negative camber. I don't want to rub my tires or fit wide fenders either. Besides that the 2-piece endless discs I got with them were worn out and new endless replacement discs are really expensive :doh: meaning I will need new discs anyway.

Earlier I got brackets that make these calipers work with standard sized 280mm s14 discs,

but now I thought running larger 297mm z32 discs in the rear was weird :werd:.

I started browsing the brembo website (http://bremboaftermarket.com/It/Car_Disc_Catalogue/Catalogue_Search.aspx?SearchMode=Size) in search of discs that would sit further back in the wheelarch (more disc height) and ended up with audi s8 discs.

I do not have the resources to design and make my own brackets, I bought some other cheap caliper brackets that were advertised to space out s14 4-pot calipers to match them with r33 gtr discs. They also fitted with the above endless brackets. 2x brackets might seem :ghey: but it truly fits really well, they slot right into eachother.

These stainless steel caliper brackets are easy to machine/trim back for the new disc height and after doing so the caliper cleared the rim only just.

However they were supposed to be for 324mm discs, the audi discs are 323mm. That should mean only 0.5mm less disc surface for the pads. Most pads produce a lip on the discs, so I thought it would be fine. But as you might see in the next picture the caliper ended up sitting way too far outward for the s8 disc.

There is 3mm of pad surface that doesn't touch the disc, I could fit 330mm discs under there. So, next plan is 330mm Mercedes SL500 discs (http://bremboaftermarket.com/It/Car_Disc_Catalogue/Catalogue_Detail.aspx?ModelIDMaster=36417). Besides drilling a 114.3x4 stud patern I will only need to have the 67mm hub hole machined to 68mm and they will center right on the nissan hubs. Disc height is 64,5mm compared to 49mm for the r33 gt-r discs. The audi discs were 60mm in height, I can still trim the brackets a further 4,5mm So the calipers will eventually sit 15,5mm back into the wheelarch and clear my wheels nicely :D.

The turbo and full exhaust are now fitted, but I want to reposition the wastegate. I don't know if it is a wise decision (probably not :D) but I am thinking of pointing a screamer pipe straight through the hood, fit the pipe with a small exhaust/rain flapper and probably use some sheet alumium or something like this to 'heat shield' the hole:

My impatient little brother crudely modified it with paint :D for a rough impression of how it will look after real paint. Although most people seem to paint the lower black part of the oem nisssan skirts as it makes the car look lower I plan on retaining it and continue that line on the front lip and rear aprons.

ah thats sounds good, its a shame the UK doesnt get E85! but im happy with 3800 for full boost, im considering getting one of the spare ones rebuilt with a billet wheel.

want to go for the 8 injector setup in the near future tho, the old style greddy plenum has 4 slots for additional injectors. I've also collected some other engine parts over the years that I hope to use in the long run, as you might have noticed I tend to take things slow... will probably be a couple more years before that.
