Well, the moron that owned the car before me decided it would be cool to put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the car, and today the hose decided it wanted to snap in half it was so brittle. So, when I start the car, oil goes everywhere. I have to go to college tomorrow at 9am. I need to drive it there to make it to school on time, what you guys do for a short fix?

I tried, electric tape, heat shrink, and zipties to no avail.

So please, give me your input.

I'd cap off the oil pressure line going to the gauge from the engine bay; depending on how it was installed, I'd see if I could completely remove it. Usually, people put a tee-fitting in.

Its an oil pressure gauge so it has pressure on the line. You really think taping the line would hold that pressure in?!?! Disconnect the line and plug it for now.

I knew someone with this problem. I removed that little nut with the hole on it. There's also the metal tip of the hose that holds on. I stuck a tiny screw and sandwiched it between the metal tip of the hose and the nut. The more you screwed it back on, the tighter it became. Wouldn't be surprised if he's still driving with it like that. lol

stick the hose in your mouth

take out everything that has to do with it and put a stock sensor or a cap in there, worst case scenario put a screw in the hose and a clamp on the outside and make sure you can see it while you are driving to make sure it does not leak.

Or obviously dont drive the car...

kick his ass for using a mechanical fluid gauge
