There are a 2 on there right now in my price range, $1500 or under, that seem to be in very good shape. Any tips for me. I really just dont want the car to have rust on it and I just want the engine to run.

personally i would never buy a car off of ebay unless it was in my area and i could go look at it/test drive it.

But the best thing i guess you can do is contact the seller, either e-mail/phone and ask for more pictures of the car, such as all the places that he doesn't show pictures of just to be sure that there is nothing wrong with the exterior.

As for the engine i really dont' know what you can do to make sure it works and all.

hope this helps

I know what u mean. One of the cars I'm considering has only 53k original miles:eek: He doesnt even drive it. But he does start it up every other day.

Ok guys I need help now. Theres one on there w/ 200k miles and its at $1000. Think thats a fair price? The car looks to be in good shape body wise. He also says its always been dependable. It ends in like 11hrs.

Some $100,000 car could be selling for $5 with 11 hours left (so what?) - in the end it will sell for $99,000.
dude thanx for adding that avluabel information. i'm glad we have an expert on ebay.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy a car off of ebay unless you or someone you trust about cars checks it out throughly.

I thought I had found the perfect car for me. 89 black fastback with lip spoiler and sunroof with around 100,000 miles. It was located in FL by my grandmother's house, so I thought I would just fly in, visit my grandma, and drive the car back to Missouri.

I did a carfax report on it and found everything was allegedly clean.

When I went to pick it up, the paint looked far more faded than it did in the pictures. the "two small cracks in the dash" were actually 4 or more and covered the entire thing. There were also no speakers.

After driving it for about 300 miles on the way home. It started overheating. we pulled into Nissan of Gainesville and had to stay there for 2 days while they ordered a new radiator.

Since owning the car I have discovered that the car has been broken into and/or wrecked. Body colors are different colors under the thin layer of black paint, and there was broken glass in the doors.

I am not saying that all of these problems could have been avoided if I were to see the car before buying. but I could have at least got a general idea of the car's maintenance.
