So me and my friend were out cruising and I let him drive my car. Totally trust the guy, totally legit, knows his s***.

First dig my friend went WOT, threw second, and all sudden the shifter got STUPID stiff. Like you really had to push and pull on it to get it to go into gear. But it eventually loosened up within a few miles of driving.

Second run, Well we go from a stop light, get into it, he throws second, and then throws third, and all sudden the shifter is acting like it did when I got my motor set, totally rotating around in the tranny. Great, WTF

BRAND NEW BUSHING from Nissan. The plastic one that goes on the end of the stick

Part # 32861-01G00 (that is correct, right)

ANother thing, the snap ring that holds the shifter down came off too!!! WTF! So we messed with it, and got it into third and limped it home.

Is this normal for the bushing to take a s*** like this? Maybe a total of 141 miles on the new bushing, and caput. How f***in gay.

So the Nissan dealers are closed tomorrow, the plastic one is nowhere to be found in the shift hole. Is there anything that I can put onto the end of the shifter to make it work again, and maybe something permanent?

Thanks for any help guys

Just got some advice that if the snap ring is bad/loose itll f*** the bushing real quick?
In this case my snap ring has always been kinda loose, and the shifter has always moved up and down in the hole about an 1/8th inch or maybe a tiny less

Also is there any way I can get the bushing from Napa tomorrow? Like what wud I tell them the bushing came out of?

well, there should be alittle play where the snap ring goes. but for the bushing part, it has to be really tight in there when you slip it in or else it will pop out again, do not add any grease or lubricant<tranny fluid> when you pop that plastic bushing piece in, cause it will be a reason why it pops out again.other that, check your syncros??

Replace it with a Cusco brass bushing or a Tanabe aluminum one.

And install the shifter correctly so it's not flopping around.
