i've searched around zilvia and other forums... but i can't seem to find anything worthwhile... i always find info about datsun 510s with this swap.... but very few about 210s...

any help i can get here? me and a friend are thinking about taking up another project car... we wanted some info to get a headstart...

links, info, pictures or anything would be great...

ok i've been thinking... i've seen a few SR in 210s in person... don't know the owners or how to get in touch with them BUT... Srs and Kas are pretty much similar not so different, so any info on swapping an SR would be informative also... i keep searching but haven't found any concrete information...
im talking like wiring and fabrication work...

Wiring is just like any car, of course you'd have to mod a cluster in. You'd need to add relays to trigger the fuel pump and upgrade the fuel system to high pressure, but nothing out of the ordinary, just like a 510 or any car without fuel injection.

The fabwork probably is detailed anywhere but it's a matter of engine mounts and a driveshaft, and probably lining up the shifter.

The first part is setting it in and seeing what you need to do.

just as i said to him, get the car and the engine... try to put it in and lets go from there on the fab work...

just trying to find a little info to get a heads up on materials we might need... like having to cut into the firewall, fabricate motor mounts... cut up the trans tunnel.... stuff like that... i already told him about making a custom driveshaft since i dont think any other driveshaft would be lucky enough to fit...

the wiring thats just what i expected... i was planning on using custom cluster maybe autometer stuff...


if we do decide on making this project... ill post pics up on how the engine sits with no mods and the gameplan...

seems to me that its really minor fab work on the firewall from what i can see IN THE PICTURE.. they used the s13 fusebox... i might just do something like that i have a spare coupe a friend of mine owns he could donate all the wiring... i relocated all my wiring and everything in my car wiring is made by me... so i have wiring knowledge, at least the necesary to do this swap...

let's see what else i can find... any opinions are welcome... flaming is also welcome, doesnt mean ill care/answer but still some input might come out of them...


if your gonna ask why? well really... we want to build a decent car for some drag and drift fun... trying to keep it simple and cheap... when i say cheap i dont mean knockoffs... i mean keep mods to the minimun, and things like gauges just go with simple stuff like autometer and simple mods like msd, headers, intake, exhaust... maybe cam plays stuff like that...

You pretty much buy a blown engine 240sx, swap out the major components.

1. Maybe custom mount ($150-300
2. Custom tranny mount ($150-300)
3. Custom Drive shaft. $300-450

I would think those are the only major things. All the electicals you can salvage from the 240sx, s13 ECU, S13 harness, it's easy.

If I wanted to put a KA in my patio table, I could..

If you have the right tools, you could do anything.

wow there is no room between the radiator and the firewall. Not trying to jack your thread but I wanna take a honda 600 like this and drop a single cam into it as well. A problem for that would be that it comes front wheel drive and it would be converted to rear wheel.

yeah kind of a big thread jack when im planning on making this a official build maybe tomorrow or the next few days will decide if this is gonna be a official build or a deleted thread... but to help you out... it would be "kind" of the same custom work but you have to make room for the driveshaft in there... why not take the FWD KA engine from a altima?



and yes that is my plan, salvage the wiring from a 240sx at least to start out then i would cut it up remove anything not needed etc, etc... the engine mounts i was thinking of modying the KA engines to work with the ones in the 210, the tranny mount would be custom... if the shifter doesnt align ill chop up the tunnel and custom fab it, the dash would be fiberglassed for the custom gauges, i guess a center console could be made also in that case...

we already have a bunch of stuff lying around from all out 240sx builds... i have a bunch of spare parts... gonna use to 240sx fuel pump, all the 240sx wiring from a coupe we have spare for parts... brakes i am going to TRY and fit some stock s13 ones i have here so i dont have to trust those old brakes the car has... headers, intakes, radiators, electric fans, msd... we even have the engine already... driveshaft would be custom made also... just for starters...

im going to try to keep it simple...

ok, (ps. im kind of drunk...) i just got the yes on the project... tomorrow we will see if we can get the car

the gameplan till this moment...
check what fab needs to be done to make the engine sit where WE want it, the wiring till now will be completly s13 wiring all the datsun wiring is gonna be removed... fuel system is gonna be well i guess custom... i'll post pics when we get the car and everytime something is done will be an update for future 240sx owners that want to recycle they're engine into another chassis...

ps. remember simple and cheap is our goal... so dont expect no insane swap here...
