You should be posting this in your Local threads.

Where the heck is Villarica? Is it in GA like google is saying? When looking for a place, go ahead a tell them exactly what the transmission is, then tell them it's similar to that of the 6 speed RX-8 transmission. If they can work on a RX-8 tranny, then have them service it.

Welcome to zilvia.

lol its a manual tranny. Theyre freakin easy. Any reputable trans shop can knock it out no problem. Although, being that its a non-usdm transmission, it may be a little more expensive.

^^ Oh man.. Just thinking of the Tranny section in the FSM drives me nuts. lol

Well, my shop said its similar to a RX-8 tranny bro. It's hard to believe you can't find ANYONE to do this.

wouldn't it be better to use a trans from a five-speed anyways? they hold up better as far as I know.

Yah I wish subaru was like that... My 5 speed is hella weak. A six speed is on its way.

But the KA 5 speed is the same as the SR 5 speed, different bell housing. Or if you want to be real bad ass get a 2 speed powerglide.

Of course you'll need the SBC v8 for that to make sense... And a tub'd rear end.

rebuilding transmissions is fairly straight forward with the right tools
finding the parts you need would be the challenge

Mano is right
rebuilding a tranny is simple as shit, really all your going to be doing is replacing synchros and im sure they arent too different from the 5speed synchros as lazy as nissan is.

my suggestion would be to get in touch with all the performance nissan dealers out here and see if they can source the synchros for you, then just take it to a shop and tell em to put them in for you.

if you damaged gears or need more than synchros i would opt for a new tranny.

you spent 12k on it already? damn..
you could have gotten this with ease:

They even provide you with a place to use your OE S13 and S14 speed sensor if you are running it on an S13 or S14 instead of an S15

You guys are forgetting that this is a s-15 6-speed trans. You know the fragile one that likes to fail catastrophicly? As long as the gears themselves are good then it isn't a big deal, other then finding the parts that is. If the gears are damaged you might as well just throw it out. I don't even wanna know how much it is to replace a countershaft or something on that trans.

Has anyone here rebuilt a s15 6 speed?? I also have a 6 speed mine does not go into reverse tho I know the gears are smaller in a 6speed so would any sr 5 speed parts work. I dont have a extra 5 speed laying around to compare.

LMAO!!! I just don't think your kicking the shifter hard enough to the right.

Its not supposed to be easy to just slide into reverse. You're supposed to almost slap the shifter right and you'll feel it kick in, then pull back and that's reverse.
Going into reverse with the 6 speed feels nothing like the 5 speed.

No No reverse is 100% gone. It was working fine then like 5 months down the road it started giving me probs getting it into reverse. It would take a couple times to get into reverse then one day I was driving to go surfing and it would not go into reverse. I tryed and tryed, drove it with no reverse for like 2 months I could never get it into reverse so I swaped it out for a 5 speed. I would like to fix so I can sell it.

No kidding??? Hmm.. you're not located in socal? My tranny shop is the cheapest I've been to compared to others. They'd have it working in two seconds.
