Who grew up in the 90's didn't want to see a movie with Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone? We all did. Well kiddies. Here it is!
Premise:
After years of coruption , murder of american hostages and betrayal of foreign policies, The US with the help of other Nations secretly put together a squad of its most trained millitary personal to finaly over throw the dictator who has caused devastation in South America for over 20 years. The team sets out on its mission to complete the assasination but with little help from the nations as they try to keep the mission secret. After they realize that there will be no outside help they rely on their own sources to fight not only the dictator's army but also the Governments that set them up.
So the plot is awesome, and all your old hero's are in it. But Mel, is anyone else in it that I would know? Glad you asked!
The film also stars...
Jason Statham
Jet Li
Dolph Lundgren
Randy Couture
Steve Austin
Mickey Rourke
Serious, can this movie honestly sound more bad ass? Sure it'll probably be overload. But that's what I want for my $20 admission!. Fuckin explosions, one liners, and badassedness.

gross. 4 was even worse than Die Harder.
Let me clarify... I enjoyed the everything about 'John McClane' character in Die Hard 4, despite the pg-13 rating. But yes, the movie's villian/sidekick/plotline sucked.
I think Hollywood has learned how to keep a characther's wit and essence entact while toning down the language.
BustedS13
01-04-2010, 04:14 PM
and I think the only thing Hollywood has learned is that fans of a series will go to see any sequel, and teenagers have pockets full of their parents' money.
also, romantic comedies are a sure thing because women will drag men to see them, while men will not drag women to see action movies.
i really hated die hard 4. i mean, Bruce Willis is a god, and there were a couple good scenes, but Justin Long, the plot, and the jet riding scene really ruined the whole thing. then i watch the unrated version and they've digitally added a few sprays of blood and you can sort of hear him say "fucker" in "motherfucker" over the gunshot bleep.
it just wasn't the same feeling. the first three movies were soaked in blood, and then this clean thing comes along. eh.

Indeed, I can understand how people wouldn't care if it didn't have those things, but watching a movie like this without it would seem like they are spitting on everything that made these movies awesome back in the day with the very movie that is paying homage to them.

This. Movie. ROCKS.
"Too sad to tell."
Story was shit, but all 80s/early 90's stories sucked.
This truely does pay homage to films of yesteryear.
I really wish they would've developed the characters more. Or more non-wrestling fighting.
PS. A badass sequel would be Stallone's team vs. Schwartz's team.
One suit hires Sly, another hires Schwartz. Schwartz secures his target, Sly is meant to free said target. Epic fighting. Eventually team up and take out the suits in that "one last fight" style.
Slowmo of the new SlySchwartz team walking awway from a huge explosion. Like twin-towers huge.

It's amazing how critics rip apart every single movie that isn't a candidate for the oscars.
This movie wasn't supposed to have a great story line, 80s action movie acting was terrible. The idea of this movie was to bring back the nostalgia of the 70s-80s and early 90s action movies. If it would have been a super clean cut, expertly plotted masterpiece it just wouldn't have the same appeal.
It really drives me nuts that so many people (mainly shitty local*yet nationally publicized*critics completely rip this movie apart for everything that it isn't and completely forget about it it really is.
I loved this movie, all action with some comical points. lol at making fun of asians for being short. It lived it up every single one of my expectations. The only part I questioned was when the mansion blew up and the cgi looked like it was straight out of a lower budget movie.

movie brought me back to the 80's, 90s type of action movies. i wasn't expecting a great story line or acting. just lots of action, explosions, and cheesy lines. (remember arnold's lines in commando?)
if there was one thing that i was dissapointed with, it was the lack of action. the movie has a run time of 103 mins, but i felt like there was only 80 mins of action. i was expecting 100 of the 103 mins to be action. sly is working on a sequel though, maybe he'll fix this.
