hey. i searched and there is a thread almost like what i wanted however its not complete.

anybody know where i would be able to find a test pipe that has a 2.5'' inlet and 3'' outlet for my s13. thanks.

edit. any shops around me will not fab one for me "due to legal reasons" thats why i ask.

"Hispanic" muffler shops? Just tell them its for a track only car. Granted Nv has less strict laws. I'm not sure if anyone makes one like that however.

Why don't you just use a 3" test pipe?

3" inlet and outlet. Super common.

I once had a car with an SR with 3" downpipe, and a stock cat, and catback.

So I think a 3" would still work.

3" test pipe, be done with it. Flange will bolt up either way if thats what you're worried about. Doesnt matter if its 3" flange hooking up to a 2.5" flange. The measurement is the size of the opening, not the flange.

plus you get a gasket to seal it nice and good

What size gasket are you using? A 2.5" gasket should seal fine, otherwise double it with a 3" gasket.

yea i may have to double it. im using the 2.5. but i can still feel a minor leak even with the gasket

im running stock DP to 3" inlet and outlet to a 65mm/2.5" catback.

so signs of a leak and im using 3" gaskets not doubled .

just make your own gaskets. Just buy the material and trace the outline, cut it out with safety scissors and use paste to put it on. nah fo real i just cut my gaskets. u know that they will fit perfect

go to a welder that does gates and other crap. They do not have a " legal responsibility" on welding your test pipe. Don't go to a muffler shop.

Just go to a parts store and buy a stock gasket. While most 2.5" gaskets have a smaller outer diamater, the stock gaskets are the same as a 3" gasket, and their inner diameter is actually 2.5". That is what I used with a 2.5" header going to 3" test pipe, and had no leaks.

+1 thats what i did on my old car. i bought a high flow cat without flanges from autozone and had my neighbor weld a 2.5" flange on the inlet and 3" on the outlet. now i just rock a hollowed out oem cat.

yes i originally wanted to hollow out a cat. however i learned that by getting the high flow cat, you eliminate most of the C02 emissions, with flow being essentially the same. so i went with being kind with the environment. now its giving me a slight hassle. lol

research. i wont look it up for you. a high flow catco gives you almost(key word is almost) the same flow as a test pipe, without the harmful effects

i dont need you to,
you just told me :ddog:

well thats why its called a high flow CAT.
so you can have the same flow bt w.o messing up the air.

well there are many considered "high flow" however catco is i think the highest flowing cat on the market so thats what i used. and i have work off tomorrow so as soon as i get off from school im going to do the gasket thing. thanks guys
