I live in so-cal and was wondering if there is an importer of Silvias to the states, much like Motorex imports Skylines. Anybody have a link or some info? Thanks

I hear that Robert Chen at www.projectsilvia.com was kinda sorta thinking about importing full cars. From my understanding it would not be to legalize though.

yeah, as nice as the Silvia is, I don't think I would want a RHD car.

Something to think about... I don't know if the US will legally allow a RHD here. Maybe California is different, but here in NC, I don't think that they will.

Plus... do you want to learn how to drive all over again???

are you sure about that i thought you had to spend like an extra 16k to get them legalized. I may be wrong though this is what someone told me.

The only thing you would have to learn to do is shift with your left hand. The gears are in the same place and the pedals are the same.

You do have to spend the extra 16K + to get it EPA and DOT legal. RHD doesn't factor into that. RHD is legal in every state, for example but mail trucks are all RHD.

1. the extra 16k is only if you are bringing your own skyline into the states all prices on Motorex's site includes conversions
2. RHD cars are legal in all 50 states
3. If you check into the licencing and titling of kit cars in most states you can get the car on the road with some money and minimal fuss this is a rather common occurance for exocits that never made it to the U.S. it is difficult but it can be done
4. This choice is highly illegal but you could swap VIN plates with a junked 240 or otherwise incapicated car and register it as the U.S. 240

i don't necessarily condone all of these but all are possible

A while back I inquired about this S15 silvia I am about to show you, in these pictures all the cars you see are already in the states, I cant gurantee this guy will answer your email I havent contacted him in a while, but he can get the cars here, you just need to worry about getting them legal, unless you use for track only, I emailed nitrous express asking them how they got there S15 silvia legalized for street use and they never returned my email, but I know it is possible, some people believe you have to go to the extent of crash testing a Nissan Silvia to get it legalized, but from what I know that is not the case, the reason motorex had to do it is because they would be selling the cars to the general public as where you and I would use the car for our personal use only. I am not sure what the steps are to get these cars legalized but here is the number to the CA state referee (800)622-7733. If you want info on legalizing cars call that number. The person who imports these cars is Andy Nguyen, his email is [email protected] Here are some pictures of the S15 Silvia he was selling for 25,000 with 27k miles. In the backround of the pictures you can see a k's s14 silvia as well as a 22b sti wrx.

if you are serious about a JDM car, talk to Sean Morris. he did all the paperwork for Motorex, and was responsble for importing the first skylines. he can be found over on FA in the skyline section. hell just tell you how its not possible/feasible though. this comes up alot over there, im sure hes tired of it by now.
