Yo I just recently bought an SR from jdm miami and it should be here within a week or so. Since this is my first swap I just wanted to get some advice on what parts to get, what is a gimmick and basically the opinions of you guyz. Ive been on enjuku and scoped out their fmic kit from isis but i heard isis isnt a good brand but i dont know how true that is. My power goals are about tha 300-350ish range as much as i can make reliably and cost effectively without touching tha bottom end for rite now. I just want a well balanced ride thats quick and handles well. I would like to do as much as I can to tha motor before i put it in tha car.

so far i know i need:

fmic kit (some dont include the hotpipe)
BOV
Downpipe
Clutch & flywheel (dont need it but i would like to change those b4 da motor is in)
Walbro Fuel Pump
Some sort of intake kit
Boost Gauge
wideband
Electric Fans (since Im goin to get a koyo)
Radiator Hoses
Full 3in exhaust (ill use a test pipe to eliminate tha cat since i live tha USVI and theres no emissions)
thats all I can think of rite now

and btw I have $2500 to work with so any input would be greatly appreciated

What turbo are you going to be running? If your going with the stock T25, I doubt you'll see your 300-350whp goal...

If your upgrading turbo's, your going to need a whole slew of other supporting modifications as well...Injectors, Bigger MAF (Z32 is a popular one), as well as a tuned ECU to be able to handle said upgrades. But going this route you'll definately break your 2500 dollar budget. I'm currently doing my swap with an S15 GT28R turbo with 550cc injectors, Z32 MAF and a tuned ecu.

You may want to look into an AFC as well so you can adjust (slightly) your AFR's.

But for just a bare-bone stock swap, your on the right track. Theres a really good guide in the FAQ section concerning this swap...I highly suggest you read that before coming back. It has a wealth of info in there and could probably answer the majority of your questions.

Oh, and be sure you get compression check numbers with your motor. Nothing worse than getting your super-sweet JDM Dorifto motor and having it be a pile of junk..more-so than it already is ;) Your also going to need some wire/solder/soldering iron/electrical tape/heat shrink etc, as you're going to have to modify your SR Harness so it works with your body and dash harness on the car, as well as extending your MAF and O2 wires to reach the other side of the engine bay.

Its a bit of work, but definately more fun than your stock KA!! :) Good luck!

1. All new hoses and I mean all of them. All the little bastards under the intake manifold.
2. New timing chain front cover.
3. New oil tubes for the cams. The revised version has larger opening.
4. Thermostat
5. Waterpump
6. Coolant temp sensor
7. New mounts for the engine and transmission.
8. Oil pressure gauge.
