I have a 1990 240sx and I a hard time starting the car. i have put in new plugs and wires and a new rotor and cap, but it still does it. before i put in the new wires and plugs, it took a long time to start. and now after the new wires and plugs, it doesn't take as long, but still take about 20 seconds none stop cranking to start. and after it start, there is alot of black smoke and alot of gas fume. but when i push start it, it'll start right away. and also when the engine is cold and i got it to start, the engine doesn't idle up at all. it just feels the engine wants to die. Does anyone body have any suggestions that can help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.
I'd take it to an analisys shop and have them do it through their computer. Or check your ignition system. Post back with results. Good luck!

Go to www.240sx.org and check out their FAQ section. There's a lot on starting problems and I don't wanna look through it myself. The FAQ comes in handy...good luck

I have tried everything and the only thing i can come up with is that the coil could be weak. Does anybody knows if it possible for a coil to get weak?
