Why are there butterfly flanges in my 92' intake manifold but are not in the 95'? What is the sugnificance of them?

The SCV system boosts low end torque.
With the S14's milder cams and improved engine management they were no longer necessary.

So does that mean this will help me out more because now I have the 92' butterfly flanges(had to use my s13 intake mani because of B.S. EGR and some sensors) in my s14 motor?
