Hello Everyone,
Last June, we held an R&D Session at our Torrance, California location to test brand new parts for aftermarket
tuning.
Tanabe USA Inc. - Research & Development Sesstion June 2009 (http://www.tanabe-usa.com/rndnews.asp)
Our next R&D Session is coming soon, and we'd like to know what suspension, chassis, and exhaust parts you'd be
interestd in seeing for future productions.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, Tanabe is a longtime manufacturer of springs, coilovers, exhaust
systems, and chassis bracing for Japanese cars.
That said, what parts would you guys be interested in seeing in the future? The application doesn't have to be
specific to the chassis of this forum btw.

A steering angle increasing knuckle (kit) that doesn't break and isn't suspect.

We actually have the pro sevens for the s13 and s14s, but due to high cost of production and low orders, Tanabe Japan decided that it'll only make the pro sevens again if there are enough interest in these coilovers. Of course in these bad economical times, it's hard to get enough people to be interested in these high quality coilovers. Where as now everyone trying to save money and also want to be in the automotive industry so its harder to push the pro sevens.
How about a well made front ladder bar for S13s that goes between the two front framerails around the front of the transmission area. Bonus points if it triangulates to the front cross member.
This seems right up Tanabe's alley given their current product mix.

A quieter than stock 'N1-style' exhaust. :)
Maybe with 2.5-2.75" piping and a 4.5-4.75" tip.
And the can should be far enough to clear all aero.
Pretty please.
a good exhaust, at the price of an ebay one.
lol

How about making everything of way less quality so I can buy it 5 times over and over! after it keeps breaking like a lot of low ballers in the community! yeah!

I second the ladder bar idea though-

How about something along these lines but front and rear with the option of connecting the whole thing together.

Maybe one of these as well.

I guess I want to stiffen up my chassis with out putting in a full cage.

these would probably be the best, unlike coilovers, its not a super saturated market. and you wouldn't be competing against cheap chinese knockoffs (yet) I would also make sure these clear aftermarket over-sized oil pans.

Agreed, well, sort of. I like the canister style exhaust, but I require ground clearance on a lowered car and less than 93 db w/ 3" piping. I think I am just wishing though.....................

How about some Miata love?
Have the pro sevens in my S13 and would love a Tanabe coilover offering for my Miata.
For the S13.. +1 on effective simple bracing without going full cage.. my hatch flexes like no other.

How about a nice weighted resin shifter knob. I love my Phlip special red snooker ball and can see there being a market for something other than blingy burned titanium or stainless.
