View Full Version : Oil inlet tube...I suck at life

Just like the title...I suck at life. I had an oil leak (had no idea for awhile because I'm lazy and have been pretty busy lately...have not driven the car since the leak started).

I decided to finally try to fix the leak today because I needed something to take my mind off of a trip I'm going on at the end of the week to Honduras. I figured I'd tackle this and be happy with life but well, since I suck at life, I fucked up.

I pin-pointed the leak to my oil inlet tube (that's what the FSM calls it). I (like a fucking douche) decided to torque it down a bit. I didn't apply too much pressure before I noticed the leak wasn't a loose fitting but it was busted out.

Question is what is the most reliable way to fix this?

I've searched enjuku.com phase2, google, egay, here...and can't find something. Maybe I'm drunk, maybe I'm tired but if anyone can help, please do.

The car is a 95 S14 with S14 SR and S15 turbo.

i just had that problem and fixed it.

im not sure if the s13 and s14 sr use the same banjo type fitting but

i torque down mine couple of times but i still have a leak, put a brand new copper washer and it was still leaking. then i checked again for any craks or stripped then figured it out checked the nut that holds the banjo and tighten it down and the leak went away

good luck.

I've seen alot of hardlines crack at the neck of the banjo fitting. Best bet is change your lines to braided lines. Save you alot of time from messing around with the stock line next time you take it off or reinstall it.

Go steel braided for sure.... you need the copper washer its required to "seal" it

I'm finally getting some extra cash to fix this mess up this weekend. Can anyone help me out on where to buy the line? I can't find one anywhere but possibly this:

Turbo Oil Water line Nissan Silvia S14 S15 Ball Bearing:eBay Motors (item 120470262262 end time Oct-16-09 00:29:41 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo-Oil-Water-line-Nissan-Silvia-S14-S15-Ball-Bearing_W0QQitemZ120470262262QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMo tors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c0c9651 f6&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245)

I don't really want to do egay but this seems cheap enough but with my experience with SS hoses and fittings (I used to be an airsmith) I wonder about the quality.

Lookup Taka Lines.

The prices are a little bit high, but you are getting extremely high quality, well put-together stuff.

Taka = earls... if you have some know how of SS lines, you can piece it together... Don't forget about restrictor as they don't come with one any more and you need one on your turbo....
