Reason number 20065 why Rally Racing is better then Nascar. Flips N Shit. Well almost flips n shit.

tLPq413sks0

What's the deal on them bringing Rally back to US TV again?

the WRC is ailing due to its shoddy rules, lack of real manufacturers, and the crappy organisation of rallies. Theres only 2 constructors? Citroen and Ford =(

FIA needs to get their rules together,.. soo many good racing series with super strict rules. and need to promote more motorsports to US fans.

Anything that's not Nascar is better than Nascar automatically.

Regardless of what it is.

Do you spell it N A S C A R?

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Like everyone in my family watches Nascar but me. I get these weird panic attacks whenever my roomate turns it on in the other room, it's like I know fail is immanent.

This is why these dudes are the most crazy bastards in the world. Nascar is a bunch of pussies in comparison.

I love rally racing. I also love NASCAR. I love pretty much any motorsport. I don't see what's so wrong with NASCAR. It's NOT just driving in circles.

That Eric Bana movie looks interesting.

Rally is probably THE best motorsport, even tho I prefer the concept of Togue...anyway back to the topic...I personaly think that WRC is no more what it was...so I just stop watching it and instead I watch Rally of America.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Thumbs up if you're not hurt".

And I wholeheartedly agree about not finding others misfortunes to be funny.

whenever people tell me that they enjoy nascar only for the crashes, I just wanna drop kick em in the face. Each and every crash either in rally, nascar etc are potentially life threatening and not funny in the least

Crashes are much more exciting than circles.

thank god for roll cages, because some of those wrecks are pretty violent. Am i the only one who would rather just watch it on tv than actually be there, it seems like your always taking a big risk standing on the side of the road when these bad boys are barreling down the road.

WRC drivers are probably the best drivers in the world, rivaled by only F1 drivers. There are just too many variables, rally is basically sanctioned canyon racing and inherently more dangerous due to that fact. As morbid as it may be, nobody can deny the allure of a good crash video. Although I must admit the few times that I have seen a driver die that I knew of, either in-person or via television, I have shed a tear.

what you talkin' 'bout, willis-er... pat? The only think I enjoy about NASCAR is the 800hp carb'd 350s running for 5 hours strait... I wish I could get a subaru to run for 5 hours strait at 55 mph without blowing the fuck up :naw:

And you gotta admit: the crashes are pretty spectacular. Its bad and all, but hey, you always run the risk of a fuckup when your on a track.... As long as everyones ok, enjoy the carnage. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I'd like to see those 800hp cars taking a hairpin! :squint:

Nascar cars are not made for rally driving, and rally cars are not made for circle racing for 5 hours straight!

The fia definitely needs to revamp the rules for wrc. I personally think it should be fwd, transverse 2.0 liter normally aspirated with a 300hp limit. The car should be based off a production setup of course.

I think a group B car would definitely give a Nascar a run for it's money...in terms of straight line speed.

QFT They would sell the shit out of them if they ever got the brains to bring them over. How does an American company not offer all of their cars in their home market, thats like if nissan released the silvias in the rest of the world and not in japan..

Subaru returns to rallying for 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge — Autoblog (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/07/subaru-returns-to-rallying-for-2010-intercontinental-rally-chall/)

After only a one-year hiatus, Subaru is preparing to get back into the rally game next season. And when it does, it won't be back into the World Rally Championship, but rather the rival Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

The Japanese automaker has competed in the IRC since its inception – and even won the very first IRC stage in 2007 – but was not previously registered as an official manufacturer in the series. Rather than field its own works team, however, Subaru will supply cars to privateers, but will be eligible to score points in the manufacturers' standings for 2010.

With the addition of Subaru, that makes eight automakers signed up to compete in the series next year, along with Fiat/Abarth, Honda, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Proton, Skoda and Volkswagen. Follow the jump for the full press release.
