So I just got my Dmax FRP hood(s13 silvia front). I bolted it onto my car and the hood was hitting the valve cover. So I used a cutting wheel and cut the support behind the 4 vents. Well it cleared better but the 4th vent towards the rear is still hitting my valve cover. I was just wonder if other people have had issues like this and what they did to fix it? I have a s13 SR in my fastback if it makes difference, with nismo motor mounts. Thanks guys

Use washers to prop it up a tad?

Do you have Nismo motor mounts? They're known to raise dah Motah.

Sure do have them nismo mounts, what do you recommend I switch to have the motor sit lower? I plan on calling the place I purchased the hood from as well.

yeah nismo hit my bn hood also
lower mounts like cusco and kazama might clear it fine
i just spaced back of my bn hood a bit and its good enough. no biggie
its not oem
and dmax isnt the highest quality (its good but its not VERTEX good or OE good)
so gotta work around those issues. thats how ALL vented hoods are pretty much. japan and usa.

use hood bushings, they raise the rear of the hood to help let out hot air, it might be all you need

Don't waste your money on new mounts.

just use bluetooth motormounts and let the engine rest on the swaybar. Im patenting the kit as we speak, as well as bluetooth harnesses and other shit

UPDATE: Well I put the Kazama motor mounts in, as I called DMAX USA. And the hood is still hitting the front of my valve cover. At this point I'm not sure what the sam hell is causing it. I'm going to give the ma jingle tommorrow and see what they have to say.I'm wondering if my subframe might be tweaked and that's why it's still hitting or what. I'm totally at a lost right now.
