View Full Version : Reduce Anti-squat S13

Hi,

I've got an S13 that I run at local autocrosses and track days. It already has SPL's V1 solid aluminum subframe bushings in the car. I'd like to play with the anti-squat geometry using some additional subframe spacers.

I don't seem to find any subframe spacers that will work with solid bushings. All the spacer kits I see are for OEM bushings (like for instance the Pineapple bushings).

SPL has a new V2 subframe bushing kit that is all aluminum and includes spacers to play with the anti-squat but I was told by SPL that those spacers will not work with my V1 spacers already installed in the car.

I think my options are either replace my V1 with V2's from SPL or go with an S14/S15 rear subframe swap. I'm hoping someone might have a suggestion on something simpler so I might experiment before I go cutting up my car again.

Thanks,

doubt you'll get much useful information here
I'd try posting this up on nissanroadracing.com instead.

The real question is, is this a hobby or are you serious. Also can you do metal fab?

If you can do fab work you can tweak the subframe's hook up points to change anti squat.

I can do whatever it takes, thats not what I'm after right now. I guess you can consider me not that serious I just want an easy way to play with the antisquat without removing the aluminum subframe bushings I have now.

Manonegra - I went over to the nissanroadracing.com forum. I wasn't able to find what I needed and the admin have locked out new registration for me to create a new post. There is a lot of good information over there - thanks for the link.

Here is an option...pick up another sub frame and sell your current one with the bushings. Then pick up the new ones from SPL or Power By Max. P

sorry to hear
I think you need to e-mail the mods nowadays to get a registration

PM veilside180sx here on Zilvia. He's the admin for NRR.

As far as reducing the anti-squat, just get an S14 rear subframe and toss it in. It's not too difficult to put it in after changing a few parts(rear diff cover, RLCA, toe arms).

sorry for asking this question but i have never come across information saying the s14 sub frame is any better then the s13? i know the s15 is a little wider and thats about it but i thought they all had the mounts in the same position?

S14 = almost identical to S15 subframe. Everything you read about the mythical S15 rear subframe applies to the S14 subframe with the exception of a few minor reinforcements.

DEF is absolutely correct

i picked up an s15 subframe complete with arms, the difference is not in the subframe as it is in the arms. the arms have additional gussets to help stiffen and reinforce them. the subframe comes of course with a removable reinforcement bar that attaches to the rear-most subframe points.

i think its safe to say that the s14 and s15 are identical in dimensions and use the same geometry. the problem however, is that the wider subframe requires offset bushings which are obviously not available in oem rubber and therefor are only available in solid aluminum.
