I have been looking at buying a Clarion NX409 in-dash DVD/NAV unit. (Link below)

http://clarion.com/us/en/products/20...409026738.html

I am looking at how to bypass the video lockout. I have talked to some people that use a toggle switch that they have to switch on and off multiple times... I really don't want to do that.

I have also seen/heard about people putting in:

bypass modules like this:

Or remote triggers like the PAC TR7:

Amazon.com: PAC TR7 Universal. Trigger Module: Automotive (http://www.amazon.com/PAC-TR7-Universal-Trigger-Module/dp/B0002J22BO)

What do you guys think/suggest? Only concern with the last two items is them not working with the NX409, and not being sure on the proper way to install them.

Thanks for your help.

Your links are broken, anyways

I have this http://www.superhonda.com/photopost/data/519/medium/Picture_00314.jpg

and I used this (specifically bottom right)

It worked great for me, and I still have it minus the conversion harness that I can sell to you.
It might not, so double check that.

CLARION VIDEO LOCKOUT BYPASS VX709 VZ709 VZ509 NX509 - eBay (item 380142189290 end time Aug-22-09 10:22:44 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/CLARION-VIDEO-LOCKOUT-BYPASS-VX709-VZ709-VZ509-NX509_W0QQitemZ380142189290QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_D efaultDomain_0?hash=item58823d7aea&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

It's a video lock bypass. I'm only assuming it would work on your radio because my v. lock bypass (http://cgi.ebay.com/CLARION-VIDEO-LOCK-BYPASS-MAX675VDII-VRX575USB-NEW_W0QQitemZ380142188955QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Vi deo_Navigation?hash=item58823d799b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) is the same as your v. lock bypass (http://cgi.ebay.com/CLARION-VIDEO-LOCKOUT-BYPASS-VX709-VZ709-VZ509-NX509_W0QQitemZ380142189290QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_D efaultDomain_0?hash=item58823d7aea&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14).

um, sorry but i fail to see the reason for needing to be able to watch a video while driving.

^true. I will probably not use it very often unless I have passangers.

However, doing this allows you to have full control of the GPS while moving. Normally, it only allows you look at or listen to the route you have put in. Not make changes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it get locked out if you aren't in park or have the parking break set? At least that was how the old ones worked. Couldn't you just close the circuit or something to simulate the car being parked?

Technology has gotten smarter now. The simple grounding the wire thats suppose to be hooked to the e-brake doesn't work on new stuff.

I do not know exactly what they are looking for. But, IIRC the sensor for the deck now has to see a change(ie. on to off to on with a switch) to let the video work.

My pioneer and eclipse dvd/nav were able to unlock by just grounding out the ebrake wire. But my friends Jensen has the toggle switch and it sucks, its like a combination lock to get the bitch to work. Check

Very useful site, can find just about anything.

Most likely for passengers.
