My bro is looking at a 240sx /w single cam that he plans to use on drifting...is it worth it getting a single cam for a 240sx if it has mods on it for someone who is starting out to drift?

depends on what mods the car has!! to be honest single cams can drift..although it will be a lil harder cause you dont have the power but none the less it can be done a friend of mine has a sohc with welded diff and coils and he does just fine

hint i see your new..if your stuck on anything.. search..still stuck.. search again..cant find it ..search again..then ask most guys here are the "search first, then ask question" type FYI!! lol

You can definitely drift with a single cam, you got all that torque. Just get some good speed and a welded diff with some good suspension and your off to a good start. Honestly, you don't need alot of power to drift anyways, look at the old AE86's, barely enough power to drift but SOME people do fine and some not so well.

It all depends on practice and some good muscle memory.

i slide my single cam and drive it 7 days a week to work and school. so depending on what you do to it and the condition its in he should be alright.
but be careful with over heating and 2gear sliding is going to be hard

i've been drifting my sohc and daily driving it just fine. i have some suspension mods, but not too many power mods. i definitely suggest 15 inch rims with shitty tires. i made the mistake of using 18's my first time out. also, make sure to get a welded diff.

Throw on a t25 at 7-8 psi and good engine management and you can boost all day every day at redline.

Why was 18 bad? not enough power from the engine?
I know its a noob question.

Thanks!

I drift with 225/45/17s on my DOHC ka (70+ mph 3rd gear stuff). Its stock, and it's doable.. only like 10 more hp

18" tires are like 3x more expensive than 15's or 16's
