Congrats! You might want to go ahead and get some experience with the car before you make it faster, unless you got the skills to pay the bills. :D

That's great, congrats!

Do you have a particular model/year range that you're going to be looking at? I'm assuming that if you've been researching this for 2 years, you have a particular plan for what you'd like to do. Clue us in! I like reading about what other people are doing/plan to do, helps me to learn.

So this is my story. After two years of driving a volvo (not a bad car in anyway), our family just got a new driver, my sister. she of course gets a new car (its this who she is a girl and needs a reliable car etc etc). okay, thats cool with me. But once i get back home (like i said i am in cali right now), I will need a car to go to and from school/work. Since the present program I am in is extremely intense (basically art college) my parents have decided not to get me just any car, but the 240sx (actually my dad can now spot them out of a crowd of cars). This also is a tri graduation/eagle scout/finishing oxbow with good grades gift. I mean if you take all the time i have had to work on all three, I would easily could have worked and been driving my 240sx a LONG time ago.

Plans go as followed
Buy in may (hopefully)
Drive the car around for as long as possible
Suspension and Brake upgrade
and I will stop there for probably end of July
were i will hope to have enough money to buy a SR20
from there I am not sure. I dont even know if the SR20 will become a reality in one summer. Hopefully it does, but if it doesnt, there is always that cash that i saved up during the summer to buy a SR later on in the year. Right now I am just waiting to get my hands onto my 240 and see how I would like to improve upon it.
