s14 removing gas gauge needle?

are the gas gauge needles on the s14 cars removable, or will it break if i pull on it? i'm having a problem with it reading incorrectly. tried fiddling with the gauge sending unit with no luck. i think my new cluster just needs to be adjusted.

yes they are removable. May take some muscle but it will come out.
